What a fabulous property! You want for nothing when you are at The Crane. The food is very tasty, the property clean and lush, accommodations are turn key perfect. The beds are comfortable and it was nice having a kitchen and pool in the unit. The bar had nightly entertainment that I enjoyed. Great local musicians and singers! The staff at The Crane went above and beyond during my trip. I had a bad reaction to a bug bite and they helped to get me to an excellent medical clinic for treatment and followed up for the remainder of my stay as I got better. The Barbadian people are lovely and very kind! Thanks for making my vacation one I will not forget. I will definitely be back!

The nicest people, the most luxurious accommodation, great food at a complete variety of restaurants, spectacular beach with sand that never is too hot for bare feet, variety of pools, beautiful breezes all the time.

Booked for myself and my mother to attend the Gospel Brunch on 25th Feb. Choir where great, food was good (particularly the omelette). Coffee average. Wide selection of food to suit all tastes. Staff polite and helpful. Beautiful setting too. Worth noting that if you want to sit in the restaurant with the views, book the 9am sitting. We arrived for the 10am sitting and could see people sat in brighter room with the beautiful views, and asked if we could sit there, however were informed that the choir moves into the other room for the 10am sitting. I heard a few other people having this same conversation. We arrived by car for the brunch and the security man stopped us on the way in (as expected). I wound down my window and he just started at me. I explained we had come for the gospel brunch. No reply from him. I gave my name incase there was a guest list. Still no reply. Just looking at me completely devoid of expression. I was starting to feel pretty uncomfortable to be honest. After a prolonged awkward silence I said ' I drive in?' and after a pause he did a sort of half nod and I drove us in. Not a good start to be honest, a simple 'good morning, welcome to the Crane' would do.

We found the Crane on Trip Advisor, looked at the pictures / reviews, then booked it. Once we arrived we learned that it is actually a time share property. Being a hotel is not their primary business, selling units is, but all we ever received was one sales phone call. Restaurants are open as needed and the hours change from week to week. The property is run down compared to real hotels in this price range. The windows all need cleaning as do the elevators. The grounds keepers are everywhere, and there are a lot of them, but they do not do a great job of keeping the place neat and tidy. The staff does not seem happy and management needs to spend more time getting the staff trained. Three different times two wait staff served us in restaurants each duplicating the work of the other. The Crane is located in a beautiful setting high on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic side of the island. There is an elevator down to the beach. The beach is not very swimable as the waves constantly pound in along the shoreline. Our suite was outfitted with a basic kitchen and as long as there are only two people eating or drinking then there is enough cutlery - two of everything. Despite the magnificent scenery, we would not book here again. I have reviewed the restaurants on the restaurant side of this site.
