We traveled to Barbados for a wedding in November 19-20, 2017, and stayed at The Crane Resort. The resort reminds me of a gated community for the elite. I felt extremely safe there. Not to say that there are threats on this beautiful island… because the entire island (?) is warm and inviting, especially the people there. Moreover, the accommodation was most exquisite! We had a 1-bedroom OCEAN FRONT SUITE with a “private” infinity pool in the room, a Jacuzzi, two baths, a fully loaded kitchen (...but I'm not cooking on vaca! LOL), a pullout queen size sofa bed, and LOADS of space! There is also a “private beach” on the property! The photos on the website does this place NO JUSTICE! This is a must go to destination with “exquisite” accommodations! The Director of the Front Office at the Resort, Karen Oliver, was absolutely AWESOME! She ensured that we had a most fantastic “Crane” experience. She even called and checked on us for that personal touch. THANK YOU FOR THE A GREAT CRANE RESORT EXPERIENCE, MS. OLIVER!!! I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN TO THE CRANE RESORT IN THE NEAREST FUTURE!

Water didn’t work. No shower pressure. Air conditioning isn’t really cooling. Place has great potential but it’s not particularly clean and they’re not particularly good about service as other reviews have mentioned. Went into the office at 6am and two of the three people in the office were sleeping. So, nobody can fix my toilet. Nobody cares about my shower until 9:30 and coffee? No coffee on the whole property until 7:30? This is a big place - although it seems pretty empty. But no coffee until 7:30? Hey. Here’s an idea - how about instead of sleeping in the office - you cross train those people on how to make coffee?
We were kicked out of our room the day our last full day with NO PRIOR NOTICE !!!!!!!!!! What a horrible experience for what I thought would be a luxury vacation. Our reservations were for 5 nights, our 4th day on our way to breakfast a note (picture attached) fell out of our door. It said we had to pack all of our stuff ( including food and dairy products in the fridge) and be out of our room in 2 hours and move to another room so that a member can use their room!!! This was not the how I thought my last day of my trip would go. We ran to the front desk to tell them we thought they made a mistake and that we were leaving the next day. They told us this was no mistake and that we needed to go pack all of our belongings give them to bell hop until our new room was ready and leave the room! We never asked for a new room and had not intention or notice of moving. We went to breakfast and realized that this was upsetting on our anniversary trip to get kicked out of a room for a few hours which had a pool that we obviously wanted to hang out in all day! We paid all that money to have our second to last day obstructed and ruined by this move. We again went back to front desk and expressed our disappointments. The lady offered us a late check out for the day to compensate for the troubles. No one seemed to care. The manager refused to come out and speak to us. She only came out to see what we looked like and laughed at us because we were upset by the situation. Running back and forth to her manager for about an hour, the lady at front desk finally compensated for that last night(which I had to ask for) because of the HUGE INCONVENIENCE. They even lied to me and told me they contacted Expedia about our refund. Expedia had no record of that. When I went to get My refund letter before check out it wasnt ready, manager no where to be found surprise ,so I went back 2 hours later to check out again before I left and again no letter or manager around. We had to catch our flight and leave the island without the refund letter. My boyfriend and I travel frequently and wanted to try out a new destination for our anniversary. The Crane looked beautiful and seemed to have great reviews so I was very blindsided about how our experience would really be. We got the room with a 28ft pool which was a nice room and the hotel has a nice view but BE AWARE that’s all you should expect from this hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food was not fresh one bit. The first night and next morning we ate at the hotel thinking we would get a decent meal after traveling all day. Everything tasted as if it had freezer burn, burger and fries were unedible and breakfast had no options and extremely greasy gross bacon. We starved for about 2 days until we left the resort went to the supermarket and Cafe Luna, Cutters, and Marco Polo ( which I highly recommend all three). The Beach bar/grill was a joke and they should be ashamed. I felt like I was at a trailer park picnic. Botched up food stand. Really weird. Beach was beautiful but I wasn’t impressed with the staff. No worker seemed to want to hand over a towel to us at the towel stand, just starred at their phones not wanting to be bothered. This was shocking for a destination resort. Usually 4-5 star hotels the beach staff is friendly and willing to accommodate you no matter what. No lifeguard or anyone who really cares around. All this place has to offer is their view. That’s the only 5 stars I would give them for. I definitely was not impressed with this hotel and probably will try out the Hilton if I come back. It was not up to a 4.5 star rating in my opinion and I don’t know how anyone actually enjoyed a meal at this place. Good thing we had a car so we can have a decent meal elsewhere everyday.

First off, this is a really nice resort - or has the potential to be. We booked a 2 bedroom suite with a 28' pool. The room was gorgeous, the pool was great, especially for our two kids. However, the "air conditioning" did not cool the room. Turns out, it's really an "air chiller". Either way, it didn't work. We called everyday we were there, sometimes multiple times per day, and all they said was they would call engineering. While we were in the room during the day, we opened up the doors and windows to let the breeze in, which was okay. But at night we closed it up - between the mosquitos and the security issue of leaving our 1st floor room wide open - we decided to close it up and hope for the best with the "air chillers". Everyone is different - for us, sleeping in extremely hot hotel rooms is miserable. Had I known that this was an issue, I would have booked somewhere else. We go on vacation at 4-5 star resorts to relax and enjoy, not to badger hotel front desk people about fixing AC issues (we had to stay on top of them......finally on the last day we received a portable AC unit). The rest of the resort was great. We dined at all three restaurants, ate lunch everyday at the one by the pool. The spa was great as well, and the staff is very friendly. We met several other guests that also were having issues with the air conditioning in their rooms, one of which was getting married at the resort. It seemed to be a widespread issue. I really hope management fixes this issue. If and when they do, I would consider coming back.
