Reviews for The Crane Resort
I celebrated my 65th birthday at the Crane for 9 wonderful days with my lovely daughter. Thank you daughter for another unforgettable gift. Errol, the Bellman, set the tone from the beginning of our vacation. His welcoming smile, charisma and his hospitality were infectious. (I'll get back to him later). Valerie our room attendant was very attentive to our needs and was very gracious even when we mistakenly forgot to close the window during a morning 20min rain. Thank you Cedric for accommodating our 16 guests at the Gospel Brunch in celebration of my Birthday and for making us laugh, along with Karissa, at another one of the Crane's great restaurants, The Carriage House Bar & Grill. We ordered room service (breakfast) twice and it was very good both times. Thank you Cuthbert. We also dined at the Zen Restaurant, wonderful. Our room was unbelievably beautiful and we took full advantage of our private pool on a daily basis. We had a full kitchen but this was not a vacation for cooking, it was a vacation of luxury, no worries, care free and the Crane fit the bill. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds at the Crane with our many walks around the property trying to identify the various plants and flowers. Just beautiful, our mini forest!!! We enjoyed the Spa and was presented with a delicious birthday cake at the end of my first treatment. The nightly music at the Lounge was just right to top off the day with friends and drinks of course! Back to Errol. The day before we left, we asked Errol if he has newspaper for us to wrap our frozen fish for our trip back to NY. He said he will see what he can do. The next day, prior to the start of his shift, Errol ran our bell with enough newspaper for our needs. That is Hospitality. "Real Bajan Hospitality" Did we have a good time at the Crane? Noooo. We had GGRREEAATT time. Thanks to all at the Crane. I will definitely be back.

This is the creme de la creme of all hotel resorts. Without question! Everything is meticulously and perfectly designed from the accommodation and restaurants, to the swimming pools and landscaped gardens... they really have thought of everything here. What makes this place even more magical are the stories of how the resort originally started out as an 18 room hotel for the traders visiting the island in 1887 - which is now the name of the resort bar - with the historic hotel still in use today. The restaurants deserve a particular mention as the food is exquisite with a number of different restaurants to choose between, some are a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. A particular highlight for the children was the supervised children’s club facility... somewhere they actually wanted to go to with lots of art based activities and a games console... and the cafe which sold the most amazing cakes and ice creams. The only negative whilst we were here was the unexpected (and unprecedented) amount of seaweed which had been washed up on the beach from the recent storms in the Atlantic Ocean, but to be fair the hotel were doing everything they could to deal with this. Here’s hoping we get to return here again.
This is my second visit to The Crane and i am just as much in love with it now as I was two years ago. The resort itself is beautiful and the beach is stunning. The staff also make this resort special. Beach - very well looked after. The waves are huge, very good for body boarding, you can buy the boards in one of the resort’s shops. There is also a lovely place called The Grove for you to have lunch. Would highly recommend. The Bar - happy hour from 5:30-6:30. Staff again are great and they do really nice tapas food. Try the rum chicken wings! Rooms - we’ve stayed in a room that has a pool and holds up to 10 people, this includes two main en suite rooms, which have pull out beds and a there is a pull out bed in the living area. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a kitchen. A great place and well worth staying here Thank you Crane.

Overall, I will begin with the fact that the inconsistancy in this establishment goes beyond comprehension - from checkin where you hardly get a map to the property or any information on the restaurants or breakfast or ANYTHING at all to the cash registers that never seem to work at the stores, the SUPER S-L-O-W service at the restaurants for lunch or the fact that there are no restaurants open for lunch other than the beach bar or the carriage house, or that the only option for breakfast is a 30-35$ USD breakfast buffet that is horrible and way over priced! The list can go on. I think what has made me so annoyed is after the concierge booked us an awesome turtle swim trip she neglected to tell us that we would be on a 2-hour bus ride to the site and on a 1-hour bus ride back - all this for a 3-hour turtle swim! OMG then we get back to our room at 4:30 hungry and tired and our room wasn't even cleaned. Housekeeping was just getting there! If the girl who had booked the trip had told us this we would have avoided the 3-hour bus ride and taken the 20-minute taxi ride. Which brings me another point, this property is so far from EVERYTHING on this island that you have to drive to anything fun because this resort as absolutely NOTHING to do. The beach is totally disgusting with tons of seaweed and the pools while beautiful are so cold you can't get into them. Honestly, I can go on, but it is just not worth it. If you want to save some money and have a bit more fun stay somewhere closer to a nicer beach and more restaurants and shops.

The Crane is the most amazing resort. They have 3 VERY upscale restaurants so be prepared for the prices. We had an awesome place 2 bathrooms kitchen, dining area, living room, with sofa beds,bedroom-king size bed, bathroom with jacuzzi. We used the large patio with lounge chairs, table etc. and best of all a dipping pool. The staff was so friendly--make sure to say hi to Sammy...he rides the 3 wheeled trike. He will have a hug for everyone! The concierge people have lots of tours and shuttles available. Take advantage of them as you are isolated. Well stocked store and ice cream/pastry cafe.Elevator down to beach with free chairs. The waves were to rough for swimming(which is normal) rocks, riptides, no lifeguard etc. Does have bar and grill.Multiple pools-great for families. The staff is very friendly and the grounds are impeccable. I would go back in a flash. It is a wonderful resort.
