The Lodge at Sea Island is an incredible resort facility, golf course and destination! The practice area is located along the ocean and has breathtaking views! What an amazing place to practice before your round! The facility and golf courses are well cared for and is complimented by a first class staff. I highly recommend the Lodge at Sea Island and will definitely be returning to enjoying all the other amenities it has to offer. This is a bucket list destination! Well done!

We were not staying here but had breakfast at The Oak Room. It’s a lovely place to come and look out over the golf course. The food was excellent. We had the Avocado and Egg Toast which I can highly recommend. Service was very good. The Lodge looks and feels like a lodge. Lots of dark wood paneling and heavy furniture. Felt like an old hunting lodge. I will say the people at the hotel are outstanding. Chris gave a ride in the BMW into town, which was super nice as we were not guests, although we did have golfers playing there. Definitely went above and beyond! Highly recommend.

If you want to splurge, this is the property to go to! The staff is amazing and the property is beautiful. We stayed at the Lodge since it is more for couples and the Cloister is more for families. However, we liked both properties. My only complaint would be for the money spent, I think we should have received free parking.

Couples golf trip, picked The Lodge over the main Cloisters or the Beach Club properties of Sea Island brand because of golf proximity. We did package golf for the 2 days on the Sea Island property, nice savings vs ala carte golf rates. We played Plantation and Seaside on property - Seaside is the better of those two. Greens were good at both, but overall conditions at Seaside were better. Staying at Lodge was delight, great room with balcony was ours. Staff was exceptional. Only thing that is a little weird is checking in. They can accommodate only check-in at a time and this includes a short tour of the property. Our wait was over 20 minutes to meet with the one man at desk handling check-in. Check-out was a similar experience, less the tour. Very time consuming. We ate at steakhouse Colt and Allison one night, steaks were as expected for this level of dining, staff was good. Our party was 8, dinner took over 2 hours however. Overall, we loved the property. We thought the cocktail wait staff had difficulty allocating drink orders to the right rooms within our group - happened a couple different times with different servers. We would absolutely return for the golf and stay here again.

We just returned from a 5 day stay at The Lodge (our 2d visit). The staff at both The Lodge & Cloister is very cordial and, for the most part very helpful. Special kudos to the front desk staff at The Lodge, in particular David and Ike, and the entire Golf staff, including Joey, our outstanding forecaddie for rounds on each of the resort's courses. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities, including a large bathroom with a huge shower. Our room included a balcony with chairs and chaise overlooking the putting green with a bonus of being able to see & hear the bagpiper each night at 6. The only reason I would not give 5 stars is that the dinner menus at resort's various properties are grossly overpriced. Having lived in the DC area for over 30 years, I'm used to paying a premium for fine dining, but these prices are over the top, particularly for what all six of us thought was basically adequate food. The one exception was the food and service (thanks Michael) at Colt & Allison which was outstanding. Entrees at Colt & Allison generally range between $40 - $70. For example, my perfectly prepared double cut lamb chops were $67. All the golf courses were in great condition - I recommend the Seaside, the Plantation, and the Retreat in that order. The Retreat is a fine course but has the same price tag as the Plantation which is a far more interesting course. The Seaside is simply a cut above and including outstanding greens and tracking. Overall, we had a great trip that was enhanced by truly outstanding weather. I look forward to returning and maybe exploring some off-site dining options.
