Faja, the massage therapist at the Hotel Contessa spa was amazing. Covered all the right tension areas and listened to my concerns. Thurston the concierge was amazing. So helpful and insightful. The location is clutch. The suite style rooms are so nice to have.

This was our third year, staying at The Contessa Hotel. We so appreciate the value, service, and friendliness of the staff, which makes me and my sister come back every year! It’s a wonderful time for us to reconnect And catch up! The hotel, rooms, bar, restaurant, the pool, our amenities that we so enjoy during our stay. We HIGHLY recommend spending time on the Riverwalk at the Contessa Hotel.

Hotel Contessa was more than we expected. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Being right on the Riverwalk is a must and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. The staff, especially Natazha, was friendly and helpful to us during the entire stay. We'll be back!

First time (but not the last) at this hotel. Staff, amenities, service, ALL EXEMPLARY!! GREAT location!! Easy walking distance to the entire city.....

We visit San Antonio frequently and have stayed at Hotel Contessa at least twice before this trip. It's location is very convenient to activities downtown, especially during Fiesta, which is why we visited in April. While there were some highlights, we were disappointed with our stay, largely due to lack of attention to detail on housekeeping and maintenance issues--furniture in the suite was scratched and the bathroom door had huge gashes; the bathtub wouldn't drain well so showering was gross as several inches of water accumulated -- we reported this to hotel staff at least three times and it was never rectified; there was no stopper in the sink; vent in room was very dirty; there was a brown substance on the wall in the room from a previous guest that wasn't cleaned; a drawer in the dresser wouldn't stay closed (we ended up blocking it with our suitcase); light was going out in the shower so it flashed (think flashing like can cause epileptic seizures); nozzle on the conditioner bottle was broken -- when we used it the front of the nozzle shot off; tv in bedroom part of the suite didn't have as many channels as in the living room part of the suite; only one bedside lamp; beer cans/glasses from the bar were left in the common area near the elevators for a couple of days before being cleaned. As mentioned, we were visiting during Fiesta as Hotel Contessa's location is ideal for enjoying many activities, particularly Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA)--the hotel hosted events in the lobby and bar area, as well as on their restaurant patio for Fiesta, to include a watch party with a fixed price dinner to enjoy the River Boat parade. We enjoyed the events but few staff members seemed aware of the fixed price dinner to watch the parade -- the location on the patio was great, again, but neither front desk staff nor our server seemed well-versed in what the "deal" was -- a great idea (though very expensive) but not executed well. The hotel was also hosting members of the Rey Feo court for Fiesta and perhaps this was the reason for the distraction? Most staff were friendly and helpful -- two stand outs were Abbas at the front desk and "Fast Eddie" who worked guest services.
