Weekend in La Jolla with famiky

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The hotel’s rooms seem to be newly renovated, The hotel however needs more work to update it. It is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. No room service, no help available with luggage, the only restaurant available in the lobby area with limited items on the menus, however, adequate. .There is a charge of $25 per day per room to use on bicycles, fast internet or food in the hotel lobby restaurant . In my opinion, it is a hotel scam. If you are a Hilton Honor member, you get basic internet for free anyway. Room have a nice ocean view if you pay more. Elevators were dirty, smelled and were not cleaned after taking garbage. For a short basic weekend getaway, it was adequate.

Pleasant Hotel in a Great Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Pleasant hotel in a great location. We walked to wonderful restaurants for lunch and dinner. The lobby was nice; the rear of the ground floor clearly needs some updating. Our rooms were nicely updated and comfortable (with modern internet-capable tvs) and the views were spectacular! One of the restaurants was closed while we were there. The food in the other was excellent (and the staff great), but the seating options were limited. The desk staff member who checked us in on Friday night was lovely but the woman who checked us out on Sunday got very angry with me when I didn't understand how the resort charge worked. She kept saying "use it or lose it" as if that would answer all my questions. So unfortunately that left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Great stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I brought my family to La Jolla for a business trip. Our stay was very comfortable. The hotel location is extremely convenient to many restaurants, shops and walking distance to the beach. Jasmine at the front desk was incredibly helpful and provided us with great care. Would highly recommend and will be staying again.

Website pictures do not tell the accurate story. Overpriced aged property with over advertised amenities.

Do not book at this hotel. The hotel is under renovations, the amenities do not match up with what is available. 12th floor under construction, this is the main restaurant and bar. Poolside kitchen is kitchen and outdoor bar is the only place at hotel for food and drink - enjoy the plastic glass. Pool is on 3' deep and shaded a good percentage of the day. Amenities show beach, they do not indicate beach nearby as in 1.5 miles. The hotels website is not accurate, would not have booked if they would have stated under renovation. Not the level of property I would expect for a Hilton Curio property.

Don’t book here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

Don’t book a wedding package through this hotel. Terrible first impression. Guests will be downgraded to a room they didn’t book and the staff did not care if you complain. The worst experience. The hotel is being renovated so the elevators are dirty. No bellboy. No restaurant. Even though you’re paying astronomical rates, you still have to deal with all this. Don’t book here.
