The Hotel is beautiful, the staff were so much fun to talk to, the bed was beyond comfy, and I never wanted to get out of the shower. This was well worth the money and then some. I would travel back to San Diego JUST to stay at this hotel again. The glass of prosecco was a really nice touch at the beginning. The espresso machine in the room meant that we didn't have to leave all morning. Everything was adjustable, the lighting, TV settings, air flow, windows, natural light, heat/AC. There really is no way to end up uncomfortable in the room. The ambiance in the hotel, the lighting, elevator, music, everything was updated, posh, unique, and added to the overall experience of being in a high-class setting, without feeling stuffy. Down to the smallest detail of the hotel key cards, everything was perfect. The hotel is close to absolutely everything, and the gaslight district had so much going on. Did we mention the shower? And the bed? I wish we could have taken in all with us.

The staff was so friendly and helpful I almost expected something to be lacking that they were making up for...but quite the contrary. Denzel gladly showed us our room options before we decided which room to rent (I had a feeling they knew we would take the upgraded room for a very modest price difference) because... The room was amazing!!!! Wonderfully decorated. Super comfy beds, great shower! The hotel has a great feel overall, awesome history. Great location! Tons to do nearby Great place to stay to expirence San Diego city !!! I will probably stay nowhere else when I'm in town in the future. A+++

I can't join in the chorus of positive reviews. There are significant issues with this hotel. I can start with the pros: Staff was very pleasant; location is convenient; hotel is very stylish. Cons: The hotel was rehabbed about 10-12 years ago, and it's showing its age: Furniture is stained, and the sink/shower area and furniture are getting run-down. This is not a comfortable place--the high-style makeover seems to have placed form over function. Things are hard to use (sink, wardrobe), the wi-fi is slow, the lighting is harsh, you're walking around on a bare concrete floor...the novelty of the style wears off quickly, and you realize it's just not a cozy place to spend any amount of time. It's also a little dirty-feeling--there's a musky smell in the hallway, the sink is sketchy, the milk scum on the expresso machine was not cleaned since the last user, and the linens don't smell fresh. And now for my biggest kvetch: There's a sketchy bar on the first floor, which happens to be directly below my room. The proprietors neglected to share this fact with me, or the fact that this bar features live music. It's loud as hell (and not very good), and the vibrations from the bass are shaking everything in the room. It's currently after midnight, sleep is out of the question, and I have to be up in four hours to catch an early flight. I am very cranky about this.

This hotel is by far the best hotel in San Diego my husband and I have been too. Everything is exceptional and has pasted our expectations. We we're even given complementary glasses of champagne. We came down for the Padres game and are enjoying the hotel so much, we're going to skip the game. This is the only hotel in San Diego that we'll stay at from now on.

The customer service was outstanding from the moment I arrived. This a great downtown location with access to shopping and food in seconds. Everything is all nearby and you don’t have to walk far. The hotel staff was great and Keep up the good work!
