We booked this hotel through Priceline. It is listed as The Keating Hotel. However, this is NOT the case. It is now being run by a management company as an Airbnb. Had I known this when we booked I NEVER would have booked it. I don’t even know where to start with how horrible this place is. To start, all doors have codes. If it hadn’t been for perfect timing (I just happen to try and get in while someone was coming out) I don’t know how we would have gotten in because I received the email with the door codes the day after our scheduled check in date. The hotel is not staffed, there is only someone there in the morning when people come in to clean. The first night our refrigerator flooded and we had to use our towels to mop up the floor, no one to call, no one to help. Our king bed, two twins shoved together. For fours nights we were left with a total of two wash cloths and four towels (which we had to use to mop up the floor). No hand towels, no Kleenex. Very basic. And very, very filthy!!!! When we came back from my stepson’s funeral (after being there 3 nights) the room had not been cleaned. Went downstairs because someone was actually there. They told me they don’t clean, only after we leave is it cleaned and then we are charged a cleaning fee!!! Called Priceline, said they would contact the the property got hung up on. Done with Priceline. Never again!!!

If you are visiting SD., this is a great option. Central Location (F St off 5th Ave), spacious rooms with crisp clean sheets, and pleasant front desk staff. Convenient location allows for an easy walk to central downtown and just across the street are a great choice of restaurants,( Nobu and many great ethnic , Chinese, tacos etc food options), gelato shops, bars, and coffee cafes. Three minutes walk from the Convention Center and the Marina. Last tip: The bed was just AMAZING. I had the best rest of my entire life LOl very comfy mattress, pillows and duvet. I used jet-lag as an excuse for extra nap time.

First thing is the rate. I had originally booked “best flexible rate” 4 weeks prior to my arrival date but then a week before check in I was nearby so I stopped to pay in advance. The front desk was kind and even reduced my rate due to paying in advance. Unfortunately when I arrived and asked them to match the rate on their website since rates had gonna down the girl said no since I paid in advance. Shame. When I walked into the room it smelled stale, not a good stale so I had to open the windows but the street noise was loud so I decided to close them but then the AC would not go below 74. I had to open the windows again and listen to random people talking on the street. The imperial suite is not for relaxing it’s pretty much the meeting spot for your friends to gather but don’t think about using this to chill and relax. The bed was comfortable but the shower nozzles overhead are half clogged. Cleanliness of room is adequate but don’t go looking in between crevices or else you might walk out. I also didn’t use the coffee machine because it said $6 per cup on the display but then when I checked out I was told the water and coffee were included in my $25 fee. I almost wanted to walk back up to the room and take the two bottles of water. The staff was very friendly and attentive even at 1am when I asked for a bucket of ice. A friend saw me post on social media that I was staying here and she asked if I recommend it and I had to say no. For me it’s not worth it even though I didn’t stay more then a day I found myself not knowing where to sit in the hour prior to my friends arriving because I couldn’t watch tv unless I stood in front of it. For such a small amount of rooms I would recommend for the GM or Manager on duty to make courtesy calls to guests it might help create return guests.

Prob generous on rating. All night party allowed to go all night. After 2 noise complaints with poor results party went until 4am. Management the next day only removed 25$ service fee for a entire night with no sleep. I worked in hospitality business for over 20 years and this is not how you get return/happy guests. Especially with so many other choices nearby.

There are a lot of options in San Diego. Choose somewhere other than this, unless location is all you care about. Two positives: The location is prime! So if all you'll be doing is sleeping at the hotel go for it. The shower was really nice. Negatives: Everything is just fine. Staff is uninterested Rooms are not nearly as nice as they look online.
