I first stayed here as a young child when it first opened in the 60's as "Vacation Village". It was the most magical place I ever stayed during my youth. Having lived in the San Diego area since 1971, I have been here many times over the years. Although it has changed, it always brings back great memories. This time was no different, but I left with mixed feelings. The resort has lost a little of its luster. It's a fine line between vintage/retro and tired, and while it should always strive to preserve the former, the latter is showing up in certain areas. Some of the buildings need a facelift, as well some of the pool areas. They are currently re-doing a number of the bayside bungalows so perhaps the buildings are being addressed. The landscaping in certain areas is sparse and/or in poor condition or just not maintained well. The landscaping at the resort was always immaculate in the past. Climbing up the famous tower, the centerpiece of the resort, I noticed how dirty it was. The first day in the workout room there was water, but no cups. The second day, there were cups but no water. Little things, but not expected at this resort. We had a bayside bungalow, which appeared to have been renovated and was very nice, but again the little things. The wet bar area had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, but no glasses, plates, silverware, paper towels, etc. The shower was the old tub style, small with little water pressure and the closet had no light so it was difficult to see items in the safe. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable. There were two chairs on the patio in front but no little table to put food or drink on. The one full day we were there, the maid hadn't cleaned the room at 4:00 pm. (and no I did not have the do not disturb on the door). I called the front desk and the room was finally cleaned by 5:00 pm. Again, lots of little things, just not what one would expect from this caliber resort. Overall, the resort is still very nice. It just needs to step it up a little on attention to details so it remains the great destination it has always been. One thing that does not need improvement....the staff at check-in (and check-out) were extremely friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning here many more times in the future.

Our room had a ton of fly's upon check in. Even after two nights they didn't go away. The Service at the Barefoot Bar was comical, we were brought the wrong food twice and the wrong bill. Service was slow.

Beautiful property, friendly staff, easy to get to all other areas of the city by Lyft, beach cruiser, walking. There are so many things to do around San Diego and the staff was able to guide us in many fun directions. Just sitting on the beach with a good book was delightful too!

I worked with the conference and A/V teams at Paradise Point for a year leading up to our March 2017 conference. We had over 700 attendees and it was a fabulous success! The conference staff helped me to stay within budget for both food and beverage and audio visual. The customer service for hotel and conference guests was courteous and gracious. The added bonus of (most) the conference rooms having natural light and being in a beautiful location contributed to the general good feeling at and around the conference. And--it was fun! Working with the staff and the execution on site was an enjoyable experience. Thank you!

I was moved to three rooms in three nights during my biz trip, each had mold! i couldn't breath and my clothes stunk moldy when i left i had to wash everything!... they lied and told me the room was remodeled and the it was worse than the first room. Be prepared to put up a fight if you have this problem, they won't admit theres an issue. Proof, 1/3 of yelp reviews complain of mold. The beds were all hard and uncomfortable. Everything was good other than the hard beds and mold in the rooms... how I was treated when i had this issue, ill never come back again.
