The location next to the ocean is nice but the hotel facilities are lacking. Most of the rooms had problems with gnats and some with ants. The soap gel in the showers smelled horrendous and the towels were very poor quality. The wifi in the rooms was weak and had connection problems. One positive was the staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the section of bungalows that are being renovated, so I don't want to say things could be better (which they could, everything was very old inside). I am anxious to visit when its finished. We have being coming to Paradise Point for many years and have never been disappointed. So, I'm anxious to see the finished project. (Get rid of that hedge in front of the door for starters.)

Great hotel/resort for families, lots of activities to keep the kids entertained. With the lush tropical surroundings our rooms (yes there were two after being moved once) had a gnat problem and some ants to keep us company. We chose this hotel for the price but were very disappointed that we paid over double of the booking price with the parking fees, resort fees and a pet fee of $150 even though we only stayed for two nights. I could understand the pet fee if they had carpet or any special cleaning to do, but they literally only needed to change the bed sheets and wipe down floors after so really not a fair fee. Had I known about the fees prior I would have chosen a nicer hotel room at a different location where we didn't have to contend with the insect issue.

Excellent location and a very tropical feel. The facilities are well designed and there is plenty of places to relax from the heated pools to the restaurants. Very convenient location to reach downtown San Diego.

Our room was a "promotional" and maybe that was part of the problem. The view of the bay was lovely, but the loveliness began and ended there. The air conditioner was faulty, and made quite a racket through the night. The bathtub/shower didn't drain, ending your shower in ankle-deep water. And the bed was far, far removed from what you might expect in a 4-star rated resort. And the room hadn't been seriously cleaned/maintained in a very long time, evidenced by the crud collected in the corners and edges of the room, no carpet. The furniture was beyond old and tired and was dirty and stained. What a rip-off, seriously, but the location is indeed a beautiful one with lovely grounds.
