This resort is great if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoy relaxing in the beautiful scenery and listen to the waves hit the beach. I was lucky enough to have one of the renovated rooms. Very up to date in look and feel. Clean and tidy - but with some exceptions. There was an odd smell in the room, like mold had been tiled or painted over before removing. You could see that years of paint have been built up, without sanding. My other complaint, the glasses weren’t changed out. I made a point of checking the glasses for markings that would let me know if they were just wiped down, or replaced. The glass I used had a small crack in the bottom. It was still there after maid service. Overall I encountered friendly staff, beautiful scenery and enjoyed walking around the resort. Views from the Sunset conference rooms were incredibly breathtaking. WiFi was also some of the best I’ve encountered at a hotel property. I was able to do work while sitting in a beach chair overlooking the bay. I was there as part of a conference for financial planners. As such, I like being able to walk to a convenience store and purchase soda, water, fruits and other snacks to save money. Being on an island, it was difficult to find inexpensive options. Taxis were always available and Uber and Lyft would pick up from either the lobby or conference center.

We had a great experience during our anniversary trip to Paradise Point. At check in, Juliann asked if we were there for any special event. When I mentioned a 22nd wedding anniversary, she provided a free room upgrade right on the beach. A few minutes after we got to the room, she sent firewood and a Smores package to use in the outdoor fire pit. This was such a thoughtful thing to do. Thanks Juliana for making our anniversary even better.

This is a beautiful resort. The grounds and rooms were immaculate. My stay was for business purposes, which prevented it from being relaxing. I would definitely recommend this resort for rest and relaxation, and vacation. The front desk associate on the day of my arrival was friendly, courteous and very helpful.

First, I want to say that over the years we have stayed here many times. It's beautiful and the staff are great. However, this last stay left a couple things to be desired. I called the front desk at 11pm to report a problem with the room next door. The room was undoubtedly vacant, but weirdly, the TV was left on looping on a piece of music that played the same few stanzas over and over again from the time of our check in till the time of our check out. It didn't really bother me till I tried to sleep - the TV in the next room shared a wall with the head of my bed. When I called, they said that they would take care of it but they never did. The second thing is that the water didn't get hot for my shower the next day. Not icy cold but not even luke warm. I reported both of these things upon check out but I wonder if the music is still looping...

First of all, the employees were all very, very nice and accommodating. However, the resort just felt outdated and the rooms followed suit. Great location if you want to stay on the hotel property and take in the beach or maybe walk to Sea World. However, it was very expensive to get into San Diego and back, so not the best if you want to explore more of what San Diego has to offer.
