I booked via phone and was helped by Belle. She was very professional and courteous and had found some great deals for me that I wouldn't have found if I had booked it online. I booked their most basic garden room, but Belle told me that she had put a note on my reservation that I am eligible for a free upgrade so ask the check-in staff if there is any available. Ofcourse it is not guaranteed. Resort was easy to find, in a nice and safe location. It is not in the middle of everything so it us quiet and peaceful which is exactly what we wanted for this trip. The grounds are lush and well taken care of. Except the putting green which my husband says is not properly maintained and the grass is overgrown. At check in, I was helped by Kaylee and just like Belle was very friendly and professional. We checked in early at a little past two and it was not a problem. I mentioned that we were eligible for the upgrade so she checked and was happy to give us one that is ready for check in. She put us on a Bayside Jr. Suite which has got to be atleast 2 steps up! Upon entering the room, the immediate thought on our minds was that we cannot stay here for just two nights, we gotta stay for atleast three!! The room was beautiful. Nautical decor in blue accents, sparkling clean bathroom, newly renovated, and yes a view of the water. Our Jr. Suite came with a small fridge and microvave, a small kitchenette. Bed was very comfortable. They have five pools. We liked using the main one near the Tropics Cantina because it seems to be the biggest. Though none of the pools were crowded during our stay. Plenty of lounge chairs. Plenty of towels. Nice and relaxing, no noise pollution. The grounds as I mentioned are very lush, beautifully landscaped and decorated. You have the beach side, there is also a pond in the middle of the resort where you hear birds chirping and ducks quacking. Plenty of blooming flowers. We did not dine in any of the restaurants but we did tour their location. I think I would have enjoyed Barefoot Grill and Bar with its little tiki hut tables alfresco right by the water. But I have a three year old prone to tatrums so we just ordered pizza from the Caveman Pizza and ate in our room. It has got to be one of the best pizzas I have eaten. You don't really need to leave the resort if you vacation here as they have their own market/gift shops, the restaurants, bar, bike rental and other water activity rentals, the 5 pools, the fitness center, the spa. There is just so much to do within the resort. True there is construction going on so ask the front desk to put you as far away from it as possible and it wouldn't bother you. I like how they are working on renovating all the rooms as this is one property that I would hate to see get eaten up by age. Best way to describe this is if you want to see Hawaii in San Diego, stay here! Check out was fast and simple. We would definitely be back

We were pleased with the resort grounds which were beautiful. Our daughter liked to look at the trees and watch the ducks. Our renovated room was very nice. We were disappointed, however, by the availability of food options and food service. We were unable to purchase fresh fruit (i.e. apples, bananas, oranges) at the resort. The only option for food is sit down meals which is not ideal for all meals when travelling with a child. When we did go to the restaurant the food service was unsatisfactory. It took a significant amount of time to order our drinks then again our food. On one occasion our waiter ended shift and we were never introduced to a new waiter. We chose this resort for its pool options, however, were very disappointed that 2 of the 5 pools (1 other is an adult pool) were closed for the duration of our stay and that there was no notice of the closures in advance. The resort social media page posted about one of the pools that was closed, just days before our visit. When we asked when the pools would open, we were told that one pool would open "tomorrow" - but it did not open for the remaining 4 days of our trip. This resort advertises as being family friendly, but my impression throughout our stay is that it is more of a conference centre than a family resort. For these reasons I would not stay again and would not recommend the resort to others traveling with children. There are plenty other resorts with reliable food and entertainment options.

We love this resort. In particular excellent service by Jade at the coffee bar, Jade is so friendly and makes sure you get everything you. Very peaceful location. Lots of activities to do. Great location.

This resort has so many hidden fees it was ridiculous. $38 a night to park, not optional, $100/night for a security deposit, bit ridiculous. Plus, the staff was extremely rude. Probably won't go back.

Wonderful resort with a great room. Food and drinks were a little expensive but close to town for many other outside options. Friendly staff and well kept grounds. There was a cold breeze blowing so we did not get to enjoy the beach as much as we would have liked but we did like the salt water pool.
