The environment and island is beautiful with the wildlife and tropical feel, but that's where the beauty and comfort ends. The queen beds in the first room were given were awful. My wife and I both barely slept the first night, but first thing in the morning I went to the lobby to switch rooms which they were kind enough to switch us to a room with a king bed. This bed was better, but still can't say it was comfortable. With these rates, you would expect at least a standard level of comfort and quality in their beds. I was at the resort for a conference and it was convenient to be on the island, but it was definitely not worth the money (even if my job was paying for it)

Very nice to enjoy San Diego. Services are good. People in the property are very kind to childrens. However, the price of products selling in the property is too expensive compared to outside markets.

I stayed here for a conference. We had a group rate lanai room. I stayed here for 5 nights. The bad: Rooms were pretty poor. The walls were dinged and were painted over making it unsightly. The bedsheets were torn (photos attached). I had a refrigerator that was extremely loud and noisy and brought this up with staff (Katie). She said she can replace it or that I just unplug it ...I explained that I did not want water from the freezer on the wood floor. But nothing happened so I had to bear this noise every night. They did not have bottled water in the first day but suddenly two bottles appeared. They hold back money for "incidentals" and I hope that they don't falsely charge me. Other than the guys that take you to the room or greet you as you enter the lobby, the rest of the staff don't seem to care. Food is another killer if you are vegetarian. The caveman pizza place only opens at 5 and none of the other restaurants have any vegetarian options ( in CA of all places!). Barefoot grill did make me a bacon free sandwich but it's a struggle to find decent veg food in the island considering how expensive it is to get in and out of this place by taxi. Also use Uber rather than taxis. The taxi drivers here are scoundrels... a ride to the La Jolla cove cost us $50 by taxi and $14-15 by Uber ( I have the receipt Eritrean cabs!) The good: amazing trees and plants. The bungalow design is great. As others have suggested you should book a cove facing room. Mine faced the busy road leading to the resort. The natural ambience with trees, flowers, beach and birds.

Marc Garner was the best! We visited Paradise Point for a work meeting and our friend accidentally left his keys in a cab. The cab company wouldn't return his calls for DAYS! On the last day we ran into Marc and told him the situation and that same day the keys "magically appeared" saving our friend and co-worker hundreds of dollars! He didn't have to go out of his way-but he did and we all appreciated him so much. He offered to quick check out one of our senior employees so she wouldn't have to stand in line, gave us great recommendations on a hot brunch spot. He was definitely five stars. Stellar employee!

This place is amazing for views and relaxing. It could use some help in the plumbing and cleaning areas, but other than that it was amazing. The Jr suite was awesome. A bit pricey, but worth the view to wake up to. Just wish we had an assigned fire ring.
