Why We'll Keep Coming Back to RB Inn

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

I stayed at the RB Inn four years ago for a wedding and had a truly world-class experience, so I was excited to return for a night while attending family events in San Diego. Unfortunately, my partner and I encountered a less-than-stellar check-in experience this time around. Thankfully, Front Office Supervisor Jasmine stepped in and quickly resolved the situation with professionalism, care, and efficiency. Jasmine took the time to listen to our concerns, and she not only addressed them but exceeded our expectations. This level of service is exactly why I will continue to return to the RB Inn and confidently recommend it to others visiting San Diego. Thank you, Jasmine, for turning our stay around and reminding us why we enjoyed this hotel so much in the first place.

The Prices Keep Going Up, But the Experience Doesn’t

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I’ve been coming to Rancho Bernardo Inn for years and years. As a local, it’s always been one of my favorite places for spa days, birthdays, lunch, dinner, and bringing friends and family from out of town. It honestly makes me sad to write this review because I’ve loved this property for so long. Unfortunately, over the last few years the prices have gone way up while the experience has gone in the opposite direction. For my birthday this year, I booked myself a spa treatment like I always do. In the past, my husband could pay a small fee to spend the day with me by the spa pool while I had my treatment. This year they charged $130 just for him to sit by the pool with me—and that’s on top of what I had already paid for my spa service. What really surprised me is that the spa itself hasn’t improved. The lounge chairs are the same ones they’ve had for years, right down to the stained cushions. Yet they’re now charging up to $300 a day for the daybeds around that same pool. I also stayed at the hotel recently with my godmother, who was visiting from Europe. We had dinner at Veranda, and the bill for two people was well over $200. Unfortunately, both the food and the service were mediocre. It just didn’t feel like the quality matched the price. They are now charging $40.00 a day to SELF PARK One thing people should know before booking: if you’re staying at the hotel, you still can’t use the spa pool unless you book a spa treatment or pay an additional fee. The regular adult pool is tiny, with only about ten lounge chairs, and the family pool is exactly that—a family pool full of kids. The spa pool is by far the nicest place to relax, but it’s essentially off-limits unless you spend even more money. I’ve also had several massages there over the years, and while the spa setting is beautiful, I honestly can’t say I’ve ever had an exceptional massage. The atmosphere has always been the biggest draw. What disappoints me most is that Rancho Bernardo Inn seems to have priced out the loyal local guests who helped support it for years. At these prices, I just don’t think the value is there anymore. If you’re planning to spend this kind of money, I’d seriously consider Park Hyatt Aviara, Rancho Valencia, Alila Marea Beach Resort, The Seabird Resort, or Mission Pacific Hotel instead. In my experience, they offer better amenities and a better overall experience for the price. I truly hope Rancho Bernardo Inn takes this feedback to heart because it used to be one of my favorite local places. It’s still a beautiful property, but beauty alone no longer justifies what they’re charging.

Celeste at the Rancho Berardo Inn is a Gem!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Celeste at the Rancho Bernardo Inn concierge desk is an absolute gem, and she deserves every bit of recognition for the incredible service she provided. From the moment we reached out, she was enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. She was incredibly thorough and helped us every step of the way. She didn't just answer our questions, she anticipated things we hadn't even thought to ask. She clearly took the time to understand what kind of trip we wanted and then went above and beyond to help us plan it. Celeste has already made this trip feel so special. That kind of proactive, heartfelt hospitality is rare, and it says a lot about both her and the standard the Rancho Bernardo Inn holds for its staff. If you're planning a stay, be sure to connect directly with Celeste. She'll make sure your trip starts off on the best possible note, long before you even check in.

Rancho Bernardo is one of the most enchanting inns in the U.S. The fountains are well worth the attention they command in artwork. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable beyond belief. Absolutely love this piece of heaven.
