We booked our hotel through amex travel. On checkin we were told in written we have late checkout and we made our plans accordingly. Just a day before management told us we don’t have any late checkout option. Totally surprised and shocked when management had in written said late checkout. Felt cheated and can’t trust management here.

Jamie Lemon and the staff were very responsive and professional. I was impressed with the quick follow up and positive attitudes of the tram members that helped me. It’s a beautiful property and the yoga and Veranda restaurant was delicious!

The Rancho Bernardo Inn has clean and comfortable rooms and beautiful grounds but what topped it for us was their friendly and professional staff. We had breakfast at the Veranda while staying there and it was delicious and Debbie our server was wonderful.

I picked this hotel for a family getaway with our daughter who is stationed in San Diego. What sold me on this hotel was the beautiful pool shown on the website as we were looking for somewhere to primarily enjoy the hotel. It is not clear on the website that the pool shown is for Spa guests only. Since we did not have any interest in the spa, no access for us. The adult pool is much smaller, not nearly as pretty and lacked enough lounges/seating for everyone. I messaged the front desk and was told its first come/first serve so nothing they can do. We sat on towels on the ground. I understand it was a busy holiday weekend but there was room to add more lounges and feel additional seating should have been anticipated. With a $40 a day resort fee I expected a little more. We used Southwest Travel to book the room (don't recommend!) which was a room with 2 beds and a garden view. Although that was confirmed on my reservation, on the hotel's end it showed a king bed standard view. They said they were fully booked and could not change rooms since it was third party. A bed was brought for my daughter so it was ok but the view the parking lot was a real disappointment. I didn't realize if you book through somewhere else the hotel has no responsibility to help, so lesson learned for me. Overall the room was dated and had a very weird odor. The grounds were lovely and the hotel was very close to quite a few boutique wineries. I would consider returning on a non-holiday time and only if I paid significantly less.

We chose Rancho Bernardo Inn for one of the most important weekends of our lives—our wedding. The grounds are beautiful, and we had every reason to believe we were in good hands, especially with a guest count over 300+. Unfortunately, while we were away from our room on the evening before our wedding, our wedding bands and two envelopes containing more than **$4,600 in cash** disappeared. During that same time, hotel staff entered our room for maintenance and turndown service without our prior knowledge. What disappointed us most was not only the loss itself, but the response afterward. We spoke with the general manager hoping for an understanding of our concern. Instead, we were told an internal investigation found nothing and were essentially advised to file a police report. We left feeling dismissed rather than supported. Luxury hospitality is measured by how a property responds when something goes wrong. In our experience, Rancho Bernardo Inn fell well short of that standard. If you stay here, I strongly recommend securing all valuables and confirming when anyone may enter your room. We sincerely hope no other guest has to experience what we did during what should have been one of life's happiest occasions.

Rancho Bernardo is one of the most enchanting inns in the U.S. The fountains are well worth the attention they command in artwork. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable beyond belief. Absolutely love this piece of heaven.
