What keep me coming back to The Jay, fka Le Meridien, are the location, room, amenities, and most of all the friendly and hospitable staff from doormen, front desk to house keeping. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised and very impressed with this beautiful hotel which is within walking distance to many sights we had on our list. From the moment we checked in we were captivated by the beauty and charm of this newly updated property. We were warmly greeted and offered assistance with whatever we needed during our stay. Vicky, the guest services manager, and Jenna, at the registration desk, went above and beyond providing great recommendations for city tours and places to eat. Every employee we came in contact with was gracious, friendly, knowledgeable & helpful! Our room was exceptional in every way! It was quiet, spacious and provided a spectacular view of the embarcadero and the bay. The bed, linens and furnishings were extremely comfortable and enjoyable. We very much enjoyed the patio area outside with comfortable furnishings and fire pits. We typically stay at another property when visiting SF, but The Jay has won us over. We look forward to staying here whenever we come back.

Spacious and luxurious room that comes with wonderful bedding and toilet. My three-night stay was made especially pleasant due to its warm and welcoming staff, especially Kat. The hotel is conveniently located 5 to 7 minutes' walk away from Walgreens and Safeway for any groceris and toiletries you might need.

Magnificent hotel!!! I have always loved the location of this hotel, and it's extraordinary staff, and now with the gorgeous renovations, it is truly the ideal choice for an incredible stay in San Francisco! It's walking distance (literally 5 minutes) from the waterfront (with the Bay Bridge and its billion twinkling lights) and the ferry building (with it's exquisite food). Our room had a beautiful view of both the city and the Bay, and I found it awe inspiring. There was room for me to do yoga and meditate in front of the floor to ceiling windows, as the rooms are much larger than standard size rooms at other San Francisco hotels. I felt invigorated and fulfilled by my stay at this lovely hotel! The staff has always been warm, gracious, kind and welcoming over the many years I have visited this hotel, but this stay topped all from the moment Mark helped us with our car, Orlando helped us with our luggage, and Nicholas checked us in quickly and efficiently with a smile! When it came time for our departure, I had the great delight of speaking with Francisco about our check out, and he was so thoughtful, charming, and kind that I left the hotel feeling as though I had stayed at the home of dear friends who just happened to own a newly renovated art deco palace!

As an architect, I value good design. This was GREAT design. The lighting, fabrics, even the carpet was chosen with care and consideration. It was also quiet, which not all hotels downtown can say. I’ll definitely choose the jay for my next SF trip!
