Reviews for The Marker San Francisco
We went for a week vacation and traded our point from Embark to stay in San Francisco at The Marker. The venue is located at the Tenderloin neighbourhood which has underground art spaces, classic concert venues such as the Great American Music Hall and historic theaters staging Broadway and indie shows. Its funky, colourful streets feature a mix of upscale, trendy and casual restaurants. We have got an upgrade for a bigger bedroom, and we have got daily in the lounge, complimentary coffee/tea in the morning, daily wine tasting between 5PM to 6PM (in the weekend there are musical presentations), and bike loans too. The room was always cleaned and in a quiet floor, but no view. We had also free WiFi. The staff was really polite and efficient. We did not use the mini-bar. We bought water and sandwiches from Wallgreens across the street. The nearby restaurants are good too.
This is a great place for me to stay, close to my work in the financial district. The staff is great and the service is wonderful. Wow, what a place, what a truly great place. Fantastic place. Good free wine every night.
I stayed at the Marker for a work trip and was very pleased with my stay. The hotel is conveniently located to business districts and entertainment, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The hotel restaurant provides elevated food that's good for breakfasts and dinner (didn't try lunch). I didn't take advantage of some of the hotel amenities (happy hours, bikes onsite, and free coffee), but they offered may and I never felt like I had to ask twice about a request. The rooms are on the smaller end, so this is good for a business traveler who is tired of the same hotel chains. I provided 3 stars in regards to value because my room rate was quite steep, but I also came during a heavy event season. Very much recommend staying here.

The hotel is not far from union square and therefore in a practical location. The rooms are not huge in size but are clean, quiet and comfortable. A nice plus is the complimentary apero in the evening for the guests. The valet parking is efficient altough quite expensive, but I guess this is more or less the same for all hotels of this level in SF.

The Marker sits within the theater district, a couple of blocks from Union Square with its abundance of shopping, and also close to the cable car. The double room I got was decent size, although the view was into a narrow courtyard, the only thing I found negative about the property. Great service from front desk to housekeeping and bar and wait staff during breakfast. The free WiFi was much appreciated while in the room and relaxing in the lounge after checking out and waiting to go to the airport. Nice fireplace. I didn't try the free wine hour but I imagine it being a nice way to socialize and meet other like-minded travelers.
