Checked all the boxes for a good conference location
A nice and well put-together hotel, it was perfect for our business conference. The rooms were spacious and clean and the building itself very comfortably fit our several hundred attendees without feeling cramped at all. The staff were all polite and helpful in answering any questions regarding the city and nearby food/drink options. The amenities were great and took care of all our needs. It was nice to have a pool and gym option available. The food provided for the conference was acceptable and the tea/coffee carts put out were a great pick-me-up throughout the day. There was a great variety of conference room sizes, making it easy to have large lectures or split off into smaller group sessions.

Service is a worry
This is not a five star hotel! Grand and historical, yes, the service is not wow. The room lacks drawers for clothes and shower over bath at this price point is well, not very good. Cleaning is patchy and the hospitality of the staff in Pied Piper and for breakfast is second rate. Hints: a smile and proper greetings would be nice and some passion and care for your job would not go astray either. And do not go here during RSA conference unless if you want to listen to boom boom music and experience chaos.

Amazing hotel in San Francisco
We stayed two times at the Palace Hotel recently and we loved our stay. It is a beautiful property with cozy, comfortable and wonderful rooms. The location is perfect and we always felt safe. The staff was outstanding. We would definitely go back!

European Elegance at a Very Affordable Price!
What an absoultely classic and wonderful hotel. Reminds me of old European hotels with Class. Where else can you stay where the door handles are custom made and solid brass? As a Marriott branded hotel this hotel is at the top of the list. Every detail is well thought out and frankly it is a bargain at the current prices. I intend to stay every time I am back in SFO. Oh yes, and the breakfast buffet is amazing.
