Stayed in the private suite - beautiful room with outdoor seating area to enjoy the California weather. The hotel’s separate sitting areas were beautifully decorated. There are steps to take to the suite but Mr. Leon was right there to assist. Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days and loved it. The staff was welcoming, fun, and attentive to anything that you needed. The rooms were decorated with an old world charm and ours had a gas fireplace that we used often because it provided a lovely glow and provided a little extra warmth when you came in from outside. If you are looking for a big modern hotel this is not it. If you want charm and a welcome feeling like you are staying at a friend's house try the Petite Auberge. It is a very short walk to union square and the cable car turnaround as well. Good restaurants, Chinatown, and North Beach are a 10 to 20 minute walk too. We loved it here.

If you are a walker, this inn is within walking distance of Grace Cathedral, China Town, the Wharf among other points of interest. The street is safe. We saw people walking their dogs or walking alone. We ventured out in search of a restaurant for a late dinner and felt safe.

Location was fine, it's a couple streets away from the rougher section. garbage day (Thurs) is super loud, woke us up at 3am and couldn't go back to sleep. Rooms are fine, not high quality, not as cute as pictures make it look. For almost $400 / night I expect more. Breakfast was continental breakfast... Fireplaces and elevator we're cool..
