We just left the Scarlet Huntington and we had a great stay. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and the room was a nice size for San Francisco. The bellman, Jason and Marcus were very friendly and the front desk staff was also great. It would be nice to have access to the ice machine since we use a lot of ice instead of requesting ice be brought to the room. The location is perfect, Nob Hill, because it's quite and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Walking up the hills are a bit challenging but a great workout otherwise inexpensive Uber or Lyft ride to any destination. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The Scarlet Huntington is a gem! It's in a great location right in Nob Hill. They upgraded my room and it was huge. It was updated and the bathroom was large as well. It was very clean and the staff was amazing! They were so helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay there again!

I think I reviewed this once but it definitely needs another Look. The biggest disappointment ever! I decided to stay at this hotel because when I lived in San Francisco We always had friends and family stay there- that was 20 years ago when it was the "real Elegant Huntington" Not so today: Service in all areawas subpar Decor is a disaster Room was average- but cost was well above No one who would check into a five star hotel would expect average-you expect the best- not so at the new Huntington No ever addressed me from the service staff/ team I was there a week - never a good day or good morning!!! All in All from an old time person who remembers what Five Star means the New Huntington is not even close- You need to revisit it before you continue to advertise it as Such

We just returned from our three night stay at the Scarlet Huntington. It was truly wonderful! The location was perfect for walking to and from restaurants, and was close to Chinatown and reasonably close to the wharf. I loved hearing the church bells from Grace Cathedral on the hour, and frankly it was nice to be somewhat removed from the crazy atmosphere of the Pier. The room was quiet, with perhaps the most comfortable bed I have ever found in a hotel. The staff seemed genuinely warm and invested in making our visit truly spectacular. Oh, and the town car drop off service was incredible; Ursula helped us make it in time for our Alcatraz trip and also found us an amazing place for lunch. We booked massages at the Nob Hill Spa, and it was very nice (but pricey). We were able to have dinner at the Big Four the first evening, and I was expecting subpar food based on previous reviews; surprise, it was fabulous! We also walked to Venticello (the BEST and a must-do,) MyMy for breakfast, and Ristorante Milano in Russian Hill. I highly recommend all three. Tea at the Fairmont was just down the street .... nice but eh, my least fave part of the trip. Walking around the somewhat pretentious lobby of the Fairmont made me happy that we had chosen a more intimate hotel instead. Overall, the hotel was great for a child-free weekend. I'm not sure how child-friendly the hotel would be for toddlers or young children; it seems tailored made for adults. I'd highly recommend for a romantic getaway; we hope to return soon! P.s. Sign up for iPrefer; there is no excuse to complain about paying for wifi when it's included if you sign up! It's free and you get ridiculous freebies as a member.

We opted for this hotel rather than the Marriott, based on our TripAdvisor colleagues. Great choice! We were offered an upgrade to a suite, which we accepted and included free WiFi. The decor is comfortable, the big bed with down pillows very sleepworthy, the bathroom spic and span, and room attendants very professional and the view from our room outstanding. The best part of this hotel is the service, these people are wonderful, and are friendly and quick to respond with any service needs from ice cubes to morning coffee. From the porters to the front desk, this hotel has to be complimented for their superior service. The location is great, especially considering it’s in the best section of Nob Hill, close to some great bars and restaurants. The restaurant downstairs (The Big 4) is perfect for an after dinner apperitive, although we did not have the opportunity to eat there. They have an excellent spa, pool and patio layout, although the exercise room needs more space and more equipment. The biggest drawback to the hotel is the television, which is analog with small screens and requires a serious upgrade, especially considering the qulaity of TV cable venues available at better properties worlwide. Good value and would be even better with a TV and exercise room upgrade. Still, we would go back.
