Hi everyone, we still have one night's stay here but my family and I are so impressed by this resort that I am going out of my way to review this resort. I used to write a lot of hotel reviews but I stopped doing that a few years ago because I'm so busy, however, I just had to share our great experience so that others can come and experience the same. First, about WATER SICKNESS: ABSOLUTELY NOT. we have consumed so much ice, brushed our teeth with the tapwater and even accidentally drank from the tap and have had no issues at all. (I'm always worried about getting sick when I go to Mexico.) This resort is TOP NOTCH. The minute we checked in, we were treated like gold. We had absolutely no sales pitch or have had no mention of time shares here at all this week. Thank goodness lol. (Maybe they don't have them here?) STAFF: There are a million staff here. All smiling, friendly, polite, and ever so helpful wherever we turn. One day down at the pool I was struggling with my chair to recline it for no more than one minute, when a staff member came out of nowhere and helped me. Another day, I was in a chair by the pool and my neck was straining a bit while I was reading a book, again out of nowhere a staff member came and put a pillow behind my head!! And btw, I am in my 40's, not a very old lady clearly needing help or something lol. The staff are always busy, cleaning, wiping, tidying, sweeping, jumping to your service, making the place spic and span and eager to serve you or help you whenever you need it. I have travelled to many resorts over the years in various countries, and I can confidently say that the staff here are absolutely the best. Not one lemon in the bunch. Literally every single staff interaction/observation has been stellar. It really can make the difference whether a trip ends up being good or bad. I applaud Cabo Azul for training their staff so well. PS I read someone else's comment saying that people are looking for a tip everywhere. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I have NOT been asked once for a tip. Maybe he's referring to when you sign the bottom of your bill, it says "tip". But if you are really bothered by that, then don't tip much or at all. No one will treat you poorly if you don't. FOOD: the food is very good here. It adds up fast though, as it is on the pricey side. The Mexican restaurant on site is very expensive. We paid $150 US there for 3 of us for dinner one night (no drinks). The next night, we ate at a restaurant across the street and it came to $30! The food wasn't as good, but a heck of a lot cheaper. BEACH: The beach is gorgeous. White sand. Turqoisey water. The waves are wickedly wild and it is not at all recommmended to swim here (and most of Cabo) but people do anyhow up to their mid-calves and so we did too. Don't go past the first break of waves though, it's deadly. SAFETY: We felt very safe walking around off the resort grounds. The town of San Jose del Cabo is nothing exciting. Small. Lots of construction on the way and a few boring shops. Lots of touristy affects though. POOLS: the pools were amazing. Clean, beautiful, huge, spread out, lots of choices, hot tubs. Never crowded. ROOMS: VERY HUGE! Beautiful, clean, modern, expensive finishes, gorgeous! Large bathrooms, 2 sinks. Soft pillows, fluffy pillows, firm pillows, extra blankets no problem, easy to use A/C etc etc. Also, fantastic insulation, never heard a single neighbour. WEDDINGS: There was one yesterday and I wasn't at all surprised that somebody had booked their wedding there. It looked perfect and gorgeous! CABO AZUL RESORT: Absolutely the BEST!!!!! Thank-you for a perfect family trip.

Let me start off by listing the things I did not like: 1. Beach.. Can't swim or even walk into the water. Very high currents and waves.. It looks beautiful, but that's it. 2. Not much entertainment in the evening. Practically none. No shows other than once a week Mexican Fiesta at a (high) cost and occasional movie night. 3. Restaurants. Flor de Noche and Javier's are very expensive. The groceries or anything from the resorts store, starbucks are priced pretty high for no reason. As a result many people look for ways to eat out of the resort or buy groceries elsewhere. But the food they make are very very good. Every single item on the menu is excellent. 4. And everyone is loooooking for tips.. Pool, bars, restaurants, anyone passing by, telling you where to go, cleaning, repairing etc. etc.. Then I can't understand why is there a close to 600 peso's per night resort fee? I was explained that it's for the staff, but it seems like it's not.. I would recommend for the hotel to become all inclusive and add a buffet style restaurant.. At least offer options for dining included. Next time I would definitely stay at an all inclusive resort with lots of entertainment, shows and dancing. Another issue is taxis.. With no Uber or options customers are charged lots of money just because. From La Comer which is a 5 minute walk taxi charged us $7.. That's absurd.. When we went to the airport which is 15 minutes drive taxi drivers ranged from $30 to $45 plus $2 extra for the toll road. I only hope Uber and Lyft join this town and stop the taxi madness. The rest of the vacation is wonderful. Rooms are huge, beautiful amenities.. The VIP office always had cold bottled water for free. We were not pushed that hard for the timeshare, which is appreciated. I would never buy timeshare and therefore do not wish to waste my time from the vacation I have paid for. Everyone is friendly, eager to help. WiFI all over the place.. Room is cleaned daily. Huge bathroom and shower. Balcony is large. Beautiful fountains everywhere, fire pits all over at night time.. Very very beautiful. Overall it's a nice, relaxing vacation. Thank you Cabo Azul and the management of Cabo Azul resort.

Everything was top quality. The rooms are very clean and the staff is super helpful. There is a Starbucks and small market at the resort and two restaurants, all are good. Our room had a small kitchen which was great to make breakfast and snacks in. The pools are amazing! Don't be fooled by the "ocean view" rooms though, most are just a pool view. However, the rooms are so nice that we quickly got over that fact.

Let me start with the good aspects of our 6 day stay at Cabo Azul. 1. The staff was wonderful, Omar, Ruben and Unel, bellhops were extremely helpful and friendly. When our rental car died they helped us call the rental agency, and resolve the issue. Guadalupe, the housekeeper was efficient, our room looked wonderful every day. Uzziel, the waiter on the beach, was absolutely amazing. He remembered my drink and was very attentive. He new came to check on me, when I wasn't seated in his section. Although the design and decor are beautiful. I was not overly impressed, many hotels are beautiful. It is the staff that prompted me to give 3 stars instead of 1. The bad. We arrived at the hotel, hot and very tired. We were greeted with bottled water and cool, scented wash clothes. We checked in, and the our "personal concierge" escorted us to a room. I thought he was going to give us a tour of the hotel, but instead held us hostage for 1.5 hours, trying to get me to attend their timeshare presentation. It did not matter ho many times we told him, no, we didn't want any excursions. He kept persisting. I finally agreed to attend, so we could get out of there. He took $20 from me as a ransom, I mean deposit. I had not intention of attending, I just wanted to go to the beach. I paid full price for my hotel room, 2 hours of my life and $20 was taken. I have never posted a negative review on TripAdvisor before. I truly believe, that the best establishments have off moments, however, this is the management. I found it rude and to waste my vacation time, very inconsiderate. There are so many choices in that area to stay. As mentioned before, the decor was beautiful and staff amazing, but wasting our time left a very negative impression and I will never return there!

I just got back from my wedding at Cabo Azul. There aren't enough words to describe how incredibly amazing everything at Cabo Azul was. Every single person who works there is welcoming and friendly. The wedding planner Alessia was an absolute dream to work with. She was always there over the last 6 months to answer every single question I had and she made my wedding absolutely perfect. Our wedding was even more beautiful and fun than we could have ever imagined thanks to Alessia and the wedding planning team at Cabo Azul. We had about 80 guests staying with us there for the wedding and every single person had an exceptional time. Every guest commented about how amazing the resort is, how awesome the food is, and how great the staff are. Cabo Azul is absolutely perfect in every way. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable, huge, and decorated impeccably. The pool is beautiful and relaxing. Restaurants are so delicious - Javier's is incredible! Flor de Noche is also a great place for dinner. I just can't possibly describe how incredible Cabo Azul is! We stayed in a three bedroom penthouse and the room was absolutely over the top! Huge patio in the front with a jacuzzi tub and a deck to lay out on. It was absolutely incredible! Thank you Cabo Azul, we cannot wait to come back!
