Reviews for Cabo Azul Resort

Group of 6

After staying at The Cape, we spent the rest of our trip at Cabo Azul and found it to be much more family-friendly. We were traveling with a group of 3 adults and 3 children and stayed in a two-bedroom villa. The villa was spacious, comfortable, and worked great for our family. The property itself is massive, with plenty of pools and lots of room to spread out. One thing we noticed throughout our stay was how clean everything was. You constantly see staff cleaning and maintaining the grounds, which was impressive. Unlike some of the more adult-oriented resorts in Cabo, the kids were welcome in all of the pools and spent hours swimming every day. If you're traveling with children, this is definitely a major plus. The resort has a beautiful atmosphere and even features a Javier's restaurant on-site, which gives the property a very upscale Cabo feel. There is also a market on the property that's convenient for quick purchases, but be prepared for resort pricing. For example, a six-pack of 500ml Fiji water bottles was around $30. There is also a Starbucks and café on-site. We ordered lunch from the café one day for our group of six. The meal consisted mainly of pre-made cold sandwiches and cost about $120. Unfortunately, the food was just average, somewhat dry, and definitely not worth the price. The next day we ate across the street and found the food to be both better and much more affordable. We also looked at the menu for the poolside restaurant and found the prices to be quite high. Instead, we used the DiDi Food delivery app several times and were able to get excellent local food delivered to the resort for a fraction of the cost. Overall, Cabo Azul is a beautiful, clean, and family-friendly resort with excellent pools and spacious accommodations. While the on-site food and convenience items are expensive, there are plenty of nearby dining options that offer better value. We would definitely consider staying here again with our kids.

Look over your folio before you CHECK OUT!

We went hereWe visited this hotel for a wedding, and it turns out to be a scam. The hotel had some issues with room service and other minor problems, and instead of being understanding, they became confrontational. We were told a charge would be reversed, but after checking out, the charge was still there. They now say they've refunded some items (like the room dining breakfast) but not the service fee, which I find laughable because the service was the reason for the complaint. I spent time on the phone from Los Angeles trying to get this resolved, and of course, I’ve been on hold for 35 minutes. This isn’t really about the money; it's more about the hotel’s customer service style and how untrustworthy they are with your credit card on file, making it hard to resolve issues. My recommendation: DONT STAY HERE.

Beautiful stay in San Jose del Cabo for a family of 5

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Cabo azul was a beautiful, clean, luxurious resort with comfortable beach loungers, beautiful rooms and great food. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa which was ample space for our family of 5 and included a kitchen and refrigerator. They had an ice maker and water dispenser in the fridge but we didn't trust it (and certainly not the tap) so we drank bottled water. They had a store downstairs that had groceries, liquor, water, snacks and the necessities. After comparing the prices to what was in town it was equally priced. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked great. There were always available lounders by the pool and the drinks were great. You were not allowed to bring any drinks down to the pool, so can't really bypass drinking their drinks unless yiu go back to room to drink. We had an issue when our safe ran out of batteries and they came up within 10 minutes and fixed it. Food was excellent with large portions (which is good given the cost of everything). Beach was beautiful (but not swimmable, common for Cabo). They didn't push their vacation club schpiel on us more than one time. We were close to cute stores across the street and a couple of restaurants that were slightly cheaper than hotel. The town was a 1 mile walk (5 minute Uber ride). Highly recommend.

Nice place but a ripoff!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

It’s a nice place but spending $20+ per drink at the pool is offensive. To top it off you can’t bring your own drinks so either you can’t drink or you’ll be broke. Do better Hilton, won’t be back!

Cabo Azul was a beautiful resort. The premiere restaurant, Javier, was also excellent. We had spa services that were in a lovely setting and well executed. If you are looking to get out of the hustle bustle of Cabo San Lucas head up the coast to this exquisite resort.
