They say people only write reviews if they were either very happy, or very angry. This is one of those very angry reviews. The good : it's a nice place to look at - read all the other reviews for the details. My gripe: The damn pool chairs. They have a policy of no sun lounger reserving before the pool opens at 8am, but they don't enforce it! So when we kept going down at 8am to reserve, we kept finding that huge groups had sent down some unfortunate member of their party at 5 or 6am to reserve 30 loungers! We could not get the place we wanted, yet when we complained about this to the front desk management, they just kept saying 'what room are you sir' - like that matters? and 'we will send security to the pool at 8am to ensure it doesn't not happen' - well there was never any security enforcing the 8am rule, so therefore loungers were all taken each day. It's things like this that make customers furious, and confrontational with each other. And that's no good for the hotel or the guests. I got into a shouting argument with other guests who casually arrived at 9 or 10am to their 'reserved lounger' . I wouldn't have had to do that if the hotel enforced their own damn rules!!

A beautiful relaxing resort. Very clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Plenty of great places to eat in the area. Short walking distance into downtown for Art Walk on Thursday.

We are currently staying at the Cabo Azul resort in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico for 5 nights. This is our 2nd time to Cabo and 2nd time staying at this hotel. The hotel is beautifully maintained, the rooms are gorgeous (we are staying in the 1 bedroom villa with pool view), the weather is amazing!! The staff are attentive and friendly. The food is excellent from the pool menu, to Javier's fine dining restaurant it's delicious Mexican food. Javier's restaurant also has a live band/mariachi group that sing and play during dinner, it's so cool! The sun beds and loungers are all immaculately clean and I loved the white coverings so you could clearly see the cleanliness of the chairs! The sun lounge cushions are more like mattress toppers, so incredibly comfortable and soft. The best loungers I've ever stayed on at any hotel around the world. The only but biggest negative to this resort is the temperature of the pools. The pools temperature is at a constant 81-86 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a huge disappointment when it's so hot and humid outside and you want to have a refreshing dip in the pool and instead it's like walking into a jacuzzi, the water is literally HOT! There is the Pacific Ocean, but it's not very swimable due to the strong currents and massive violent waves all day. So the pools are where you spend the majority of the time. I asked staff and they said the pools are this temperature during the months of June, July and august. When we came the first time in February, the water was no where near as hot as it is now in July, so my advice is to visit during the 'winter' months otherwise there is no reprieve from the heat. That's my only negative to this hotel.

My family and I stayed here for the first time from July 4 to July 12. We had a great experience. Our flight arrived in the morning, so our room (#2301) was not ready yet. We went and had lunch at Jazmin's while waiting. Upon arrival back, it was still not ready, so I took it upon myself to go to the room. I saw a cart outside and thinking it was the cleaning crew, knocked on the door. A maintenance man answered holding a caulking gun. I couldn't tell what he was working on or what the people who were there before us might have done, but that was pretty interesting. We were able to check in a short while later. I'm not sure if it was because we went to lunch or what, but no one bothered us about the timeshare presentation the entire time - which was nice. We had an issue with the kitchen sink drain and an odd sound in the a/c vent in the second bedroom, but maintenance came right away and fixed it. We had no other issues with the room the remainder of the stay. 2301 was a great room. Excellent view of the pool and ocean. No rooms to the right, the left, or above. There is a room below, but that's it. Very nice and secluded. Pool was great and the happy hour drinks were good. Chips and guac were very good. We found the top bar (not the swim up bar) to have better drinks and service. It is up near the family and adults only pool. We walked to the grocery store (about .70 miles per my Garmin watch) and stocked up for the week and took a cab home. We cooked breakfast and some dinners in the room. We also had room in the fridge for plenty of drinks. The ice machine in the adjacent building (#3) worked great and kept us well supplied. The little market and Starbucks on site were nice and we purchased a few items from each place. It was not overly expensive for the convenience. We walked into San Jose "proper" a few times. It was about a mile and an easy walk on large sidewalks. We also walked back from dinner a couple of times - easy and safe. Overall my family and I had a great experience at Cabo Azul and recommend it to families looking for a very nice place to stay and relax.

If you're coming to Los Cabo's Mx staying in San Jose del Cabo at Cano Azul is a must. You're still close to downtown Cabo San Lucas but far enough away that you can enjoy the serenity of the resort area. Javier's is a fine dining location that's delicious. Definitely somewhere to check out on your next trip... Avoid the the "vacation rental" sales pitch. Totally annoying and a guy named Scott is the worst. Very rude. But everyone else is awesome and totally attentive to your every need.
