Let me start with the good aspects of our 6 day stay at Cabo Azul. 1. The staff was wonderful, Omar, Ruben and Unel, bellhops were extremely helpful and friendly. When our rental car died they helped us call the rental agency, and resolve the issue. Guadalupe, the housekeeper was efficient, our room looked wonderful every day. Uzziel, the waiter on the beach, was absolutely amazing. He remembered my drink and was very attentive. He new came to check on me, when I wasn't seated in his section. Although the design and decor are beautiful. I was not overly impressed, many hotels are beautiful. It is the staff that prompted me to give 3 stars instead of 1. The bad. We arrived at the hotel, hot and very tired. We were greeted with bottled water and cool, scented wash clothes. We checked in, and the our "personal concierge" escorted us to a room. I thought he was going to give us a tour of the hotel, but instead held us hostage for 1.5 hours, trying to get me to attend their timeshare presentation. It did not matter ho many times we told him, no, we didn't want any excursions. He kept persisting. I finally agreed to attend, so we could get out of there. He took $20 from me as a ransom, I mean deposit. I had not intention of attending, I just wanted to go to the beach. I paid full price for my hotel room, 2 hours of my life and $20 was taken. I have never posted a negative review on TripAdvisor before. I truly believe, that the best establishments have off moments, however, this is the management. I found it rude and to waste my vacation time, very inconsiderate. There are so many choices in that area to stay. As mentioned before, the decor was beautiful and staff amazing, but wasting our time left a very negative impression and I will never return there!

I just got back from my wedding at Cabo Azul. There aren't enough words to describe how incredibly amazing everything at Cabo Azul was. Every single person who works there is welcoming and friendly. The wedding planner Alessia was an absolute dream to work with. She was always there over the last 6 months to answer every single question I had and she made my wedding absolutely perfect. Our wedding was even more beautiful and fun than we could have ever imagined thanks to Alessia and the wedding planning team at Cabo Azul. We had about 80 guests staying with us there for the wedding and every single person had an exceptional time. Every guest commented about how amazing the resort is, how awesome the food is, and how great the staff are. Cabo Azul is absolutely perfect in every way. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable, huge, and decorated impeccably. The pool is beautiful and relaxing. Restaurants are so delicious - Javier's is incredible! Flor de Noche is also a great place for dinner. I just can't possibly describe how incredible Cabo Azul is! We stayed in a three bedroom penthouse and the room was absolutely over the top! Huge patio in the front with a jacuzzi tub and a deck to lay out on. It was absolutely incredible! Thank you Cabo Azul, we cannot wait to come back!

We stayed here as a result of signing up for a time share presentation at another property in California. We paid a little extra to upgrade to this resort and were well aware that we would need to attend a 90-120 minute presentation. When we checked in, we were told we needed to meet with someone and that took about 30 minutes and then he found out we were already committed to a presentation so he said that only one of us had to go and if we both went, he could offer us $200 in resort credits so we agreed to that. After the first day of charging lunch and drinks at the pool, we received a message that they couldn't honor the offer of the $200 resort credit since we were already supposed to attend a presentation. We did our presentation on day 3 and it took about 3 hours to get out of there. It was a very hard sale despite us saying from the beginning that we just don't purchase anything on the spur of the moment. It took another 30 minutes or so to get our resort credit sorted out and they finally did credit what we'd charged on that first day. So, enough about that; just be warned that if you sign up for the presentation, you need to be prepared to give up a good portion of your day as they try to keep you as long as possible. We heard many people who were owners around the pool complain that once you buy in, it is very hard to book time at this resort. One guy said it had taken him 10 years of trying to get a reservation here. The resort is absolutely stunning. The pool area is amazing and they have a great wait staff all day long. We had ceviche at the pool everyday and it was fantastic. They do have a happy hour special on some drinks every afternoon. It was sometimes difficult to find chairs together that were in the sun as there was alot of "chair saving" going on, starting early in the morning. That was really the only downside. They have a small convenience store on the property and that was handy for getting water and beer to have in the room. There's also a very large grocery store just about a mile down the road, lots of restaurants within walking distance. The room was very nice, the bathroom was huge. I would definitely stay here again but would forego the sales presentation no matter what they offered me.

I stayed here for the first time in May in one of the Penthouses that overlooked the pool. This was an absolutely wonderful experience. It is very expensive to purchase anything on property but it is completely worth it. Our room was beautiful and extremely spacious and clean. We had 3 rooms each with their own bathroom and privacy and a huge living and dining room area with a full kitchen. The service of every single employee was beyond and wonderful. The pool is just as gorgeous as in the pictures and exceeds expectations. The drinks at the pool bar are also very good and service is again amazing. I have no complaints about this resort. The experience was amazing and I cannot wait to go back!
