We had a two night stay in this charming small hotel. Very much enjoyed the music vibe and the art. The service was good, the bed was comfy, the rooftop pool was awesome, and the food was tasty. Would recommend if you like small boutique hotels. Two thumbs up.

I’ll start by saying that the hotel is beautiful, especially the rooftop pool and that the staff was extremely friendly. However, I would certainly not recommend staying here. We arrived for a wedding, there were three of us planning on staying in a room. When we arrived we were told we needed a separate room as only two adults are allowed (??!) I hadn’t booked the room myself, but when I went back to the website I couldn’t find any information regarding this policy. So I had to purchase a separate room at $350 for the night after already paying a high rate for the room booked online. The next night we moved back into the room with 3 together as we couldn’t afford the unexpected costs of two rooms and they fined us $200! The woman at the front desk confronted me and told me of the penalty policy for the first time (it was not mentioned at check in) and I asked for time to figure it out and she just went ahead and charged us anyways. I can’t understand a reason for this rule other than to line their own pockets. Our options were to stay with people we don’t know from the wedding party or pay ridiculous fees to stay with our friends on vacation. Also the food was very subpar. The service was good, I didn’t feel we experienced the wait times as some of the other reviewers but the food itself was some of the worst I’ve had for the prices. Overall it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a hotel, regardless of price point, and I travel fairly often. Would not recommend.

We just wrapped up a 4 night stay @ El Ganzo. The area is beautiful, the rooftop pool fantastic, and the mix of music and art really unique. Unfortunately, they missed the mark on service. We arrived on the day they were hosting a wedding and there were not enough servers for the number of people at the pool bar. The staff was never particularly helpful, towels were not replenished in the rooms, and tracking down a beverage took far too long. We loved the access to bikes and enjoyed checking out Container, the Sculpture Garden, and The Beach Club. Hotel El Ganzo is just a couple of miles from Acre and Flora but the $20 each way taxi fee was outrageous. Overall we enjoyed our stay and with just a bit of work they could have a really great spot to stay.

I didn't stay at the hotel but I had one of the worst dining experiences possible. Besides being so expensive, the food was just horrible and the service was worse. It took 55 minutes to get a salad and then another 40 minutes to get a steak that wasn't even cooked. I suspect, that they tried to cook a frozen piece of meat. When I was served my salad, others in our party were done eating their salads and started on their entrees. Four of us were just forgotten. Don't waste your time or money dining at this overrated hotel and restaurant.
