We’ve been coming to Palma Golf Course in Cabo San Lucas for years and always looked forward to it. Unfortunately, this visit was a big letdown on the golf side. When we arrived, we were told there was a “special” rate. It quickly became clear why — the fairways were largely dead and brown, and several holes (at least seven or eight) were in extremely poor condition, making them very difficult and frustrating to play. This maintenance issue was not disclosed when we booked, which was disappointing. While they did honor the discounted rate once we arrived, we would have appreciated knowing the condition of the course ahead of time. That said, the new clubhouse and restaurant renovation is excellent. The food was genuinely incredible, and the service was outstanding. Our server, Mario, was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and made the dining experience a highlight. We hope to see the course return to its previous high standards soon, because we truly used to love playing here. The restaurant side is now a strong 5-star experience, but the golf course itself fell well short this time.

One bad employee can wreak havoc on a trip! We arrived at the One & Only Palmilla after 9 days on a boat at 8:30 AM. The front desk was very accommodating. They told us our suite would not be available until 3 PM; however, the employee said he would request a day room as an accommodation. He found us at one of the restaurants to tell us the day room was approved by his manager and that our butler would contact us as soon as the room was cleaned and ready. He verified our phone numbers and email addresses. We did not hear from the butler. I when to the front desk at 3 PM to ask if we could go to our suite now. The front desk advised that our day room had been available since 9:45 AM. They apologized that our butler had never contacted us and provided a different butler to take us to our suite. Our butler called when we were in the room with the other butler. Our assigned butler swore he had called and texted us. I noted that I had taken this the only call from him. I also noted neither of us had received any texts or emails. (Clearly, he was not telling the trust as all his texts and calls the balance of the trip came through without incident. Though, we no longer trusted his judgement or advice.) I did complain and asked two different people, including a purported supervisor, for a different butler. The request for a different butler was not granted. The remaining staff at the Palmilla was great and tried to do all they could to turn our trip around after this sad start. I believe the odds you will get this butler are minimal. Without him, I believe you will enjoy your time at the Palmilla. It is sad one employee could drop the ball this badly.

It's ok. By no means a five star resort. I got really sick eating the meals and all they would do is offer Gatorade in return. Furthermore - very inconsistent service. Some people were nice, others were not good at all. I would pick the grand velas since it's all Inclusive and the same experience or the four seasons since the quality is so much better.

The service, property, food and spa were all wonderful!! The only thing I would change is for the beach to be a private beach without all of the solicitors and locals playing their music and sitting in front of you on the beach. The attention to detail made you feel like you were very important to them and we can’t wait to go back!

Lucille’s Kitchen at the Pamilla golf course is fantastic. We had an amazing breakfast. The view, service and food were incredible. Our server Mario was very personable and provided excellent service.
