Reviews for One&Only Palmilla
Maybe it was the complimentary Azure tequila upon arrival. Perhaps it was the plunge pool off the deck overlooking the Pacific. The surprise desserts that arrived magically daily. The restaurants. The one and only swimmable beach in Cabo. The infinity pool that extended and blended into the ocean. This wasn't pampering, this was something more. This was transformative. And the gulp that came when the bill arrived was soon followed by a wide smile and a promise to oneself to return as soon as possible. At The Palmilla, you get what you pay for.

We planned my 40th birthday 8 months prior to our trip in March. We booked 3 Oceanfront Premier Rooms and 1 Oceanfront Jr Suite. Upon arrival 1 Premier was available, Room 1716, and it was beautiful. Once the suite was available we went to our room. It’s hard to put into words the disappointment we experienced. The room was much smaller, there was no minibar, the bathroom was ¼ the size of a premier room and the balcony could only hold 2 people. To look for an answer to the possible mix-up I called the front desk. They assured me that our room was 100 square feet larger. Unfortunately it definitely was not. I asked for a manager to come to my room to explain it to me. Once he arrived he assured me this was this suite and I asked him to come view our other room, the less expensive Premier Room. He came and noticed the difference but explained there were no more rooms with queen beds. He then took us to another room with a King. I told him we needed 2 beds. Then we proceeded to another Suite, but it also had a King bed. After 30 minutes of wandering the resort with the manager in my bathrobe, I had lost it. I was so incredibly disappointed and did not want to displace any of our guests with us. He then called another manager. He escorted us to a downgraded Premiere Suite, it wasn't what we had booked but it worked. He did give a credit for the upgraded fee we had paid for a suite. The reason I’m speaking out is that I hope future patrons do not have to go through what I went through. I was very late for dinner and did not have a relaxing first day, to say the least. Also, for management, please don’t let your paying guests be made out to believe they are wrong. I’m not sure why you are charging more for upgraded suites when they so clearly lack the larger space and a minibar. Besides other incidents at the hotel, I have to say it is a beautiful resort. The customer service however was severely lacking. It wasn’t until the last day that we found out how to use the leather coasters to get service. It took 30 minutes to 1 hour to order drinks and food at the pool. I was expected more wait staff. We constantly had to ask for water, towels and menus. This hotel came highly recommended to us, but for the money I would look at other options my next time in Cabo.

One & Only Palmilla is not only a beautiful resort but has a excellent customer centered culture. For those who know the Aman properties Id say the One & Only compares favorably with Aman. We had a personal client supervisor who helped us schedule and stay on schedule using text and emails.

Loved this hotel! Excellence is the term that comes to mind! The staff truly love their jobs and make you feel welcomed. Beautiful property and excellent service! The smell of incense and chirping birds feels like paradise!

Our second visit was even better than our first. Our oceanfront suite was amazing. It was the perfect location for our daughter to visit all the incredible ladies whom work at the Kids Club. Obviously the grounds and location are fantastic but it really is the above and beyond attitude by every person whom works at the Hotel that sets it apart. We cannot wait to return later this year.
