well appointed, full service property. we primarily visited historical and culteral venues while in san juan. the hotel staff were very hospitable, especially Silvestre Ramos. he is provides security at the large waterfront pool. no matter what time of day we visited the pool, Silvestre greeted us with a big smile. he went out of his way to make us feel welcome. well done!

We were not paid guests but refugees. When my wife first asked about options and our willingness to pay for another room she was scolded by numerous employees and we were told we were lucky and should be grateful to be alive and have a place to sleep. Then came three days of sleeping outside under a breezeway or in a ballroom that had multiple leaks and wet carpets. Two of the days the electricity and water were out so we were exposed to raw sewage and a vile stench. There were no clear rules laid out for us but they were made up as we went along. On the second night while securing a dry seemingly safe spot we were approach by Caribe employees who told us we were in the wrong area and we belonged with our “own people” when my wife tried questioning them she was pounded in the chest and grabbed by her arm and hand as they tried to wrestle the loveseat that we had dragged over to the area to sleep. They refused to call the cops and we could not as we had no phone communication due to the hurricane and we could not leave due to the island wide curfew. They created an environment of fear and intimidation with their private security and we had no alternatives as we could not find another hotel to stay at. We were at their mercy. After the third night, we were told that we could get rooms at an Embassy suites closer to the airport at our expense. This is all my wife asked for on the very first night and was scolded then assaulted the next night. Unreal. Don’t get me wrong there were a few helpful employees but that didn’t matter in the end. Stay at your own risk

Our King bedroom was very large and clean with a sofa. The front entrance is gorgeous with large sliding glass doors. The pools are open late and you can also enjoy direct beachfront access. We recommend renting a car and going hiking at the rainforest. Also, loved all the food stand options!

The staff was unbelievable in assisting us during our stay in the shelter on the second floor and after hurricane Maria, without checking the status of there own families the staff really made our stay as pleasant as possible and took really good care of us, what a team, I never saw this before and a travel a lot.

We stayed for a few nights at this hotel, a room in the main building on the 10th floor. We had a renovated room which was large, clean and had a nice sea-view. They can provide a little more maintenance, plugs were hanging out of the wall and the sliding door got stuck. Apart from that, we had a good stay! Nice beach, pool and good location. Reason i'm not giving 5 stars is their RIDICULOUS prices for breakfast (30$ p.p.!) and drinks (12$ cocktails - 8$ beers!!), i know a lot of people took breakfast outside of the hotel.
