I had a recent stay at this hotel, and every single staff member in any role went above and beyond to deliver excellent service. To top it off, my friends and I found ourselves at this hotel on the eve of Hurrican Maria and the staff took special effort to help us evacuate. We had tried many avenues on our own to no avail, and the front desk staff made it happen. My heart goes out to these warm, hospitable people as they stayed in their homes and workplaces to survive that horrendous storm. As soon as the island and the hotel are ready, I will be going back.

This was to be our Granddaughters sweet 16 celebration trip. We arrived on Saturday September 16, 2017 to The Ritz Carlton San Juan Puerto Rico . The hotel is simply beautiful , and everyone involved in our very short stay out of the 1 1/2 days was wonderful! Unfortunately, Hurricane Maria was making herself known and the hotel was evacuating everyone from the hotel into a shelter, or helping to get visitors out of Puerto Rico and back home. We did enjoy our Sunday in the city of Old San Juan. We visited the fort, many shops and restaurants. My granddaughters highlight of the trip was seeing where the video, Despacito was filmed. The locals walked us into their neighborhood showing her everything about the filming, from where dancing in the street took place to where the checkers game was on a neighbors porch. The sad thing is that when we saw the area it was previously hit by Hurricane Matthew, and now Hurricane Maria has devastated the remaining area taking her toll on the total territory of Puerto Rico. We loved our short time visiting and when it's rebuilt, we will return. God Bless everyone in Puerto Rico!

The hotel was definitely clean, had a great bar area, and a nice, resort style pool that leads to the beach! However, the standard room that we were given was just that, Standard! The bed wasn't that comfortable (woke up with back pains), and there were no balconies to enjoy! I'm giving this a 3-star rating, as it was a nice hotel, but for the price, it was way below standard!

The Ritz Carlton was a beautiful hotel and had a great beach. The location was not bad either. You can walk to a nearby Walgreens and also other restaurants on the same street. We went to check out nearby hotels as well and El San Juan was recently renovated and is gorgeous, also on the water. We took a taxi to a few places but found out later that Uber is the way to go.
