After a busy few days in Paris Hotel Sanremo came as a much needed rest. The hotel is very large and rooms were great. En-suite was large and very clean. There is a restaurant in the hotel but we didn't use it on this occasion so can't really comment. Looks good though. If you like taking snacks and a few drinks poolside, then you will like it here. Nothing like taking a banana daiquiri by the pool. Staff were faultless and always went out of their way to help. Breakfast was very good - a mixture of continental and bacon, sausages etc. It can be taken in the restaurant or outside overlooking the Med.

The location of this grand hotel is fantastic with a stunning view on the Mediterranean Sea! The hotel itself is very classy and nice, especially also the pool area. But the service at the pool is really bad. We waited for a very long time to find someone to order and then another 20 mins for four cocktails and one sandwich. Otherwise staff was helpful and also the rooms are decent.

The Royal is a wonderful hotel. The staff are warm and friendly. The spa is beautifully designed and the treatments we had were very good. The views out to sea are exactly what you go to Liguria to experience and so having breakfast on the restaurant terrace and looking out over the sea is lovely. The pool area is far enough away from the hotel not to disturb guests. All in all while we were there, the hotel had a lovely atmosphere of a busy grand hotel that always looks so appealing in films!

A good hotel at a great location and view. Need to some upkeeping to become great again. A major disappointment, which is a widespread practice among many of the old hotels, there was no air conditioning available, and the excuse is that they have not switched from winter to summer mode. We were moved to a room with better ventilation and it became bearable, but still unacceptable.

Excellent Italian Riviera grand hotel! Very friendly and attentive staff, lovely rooms that are extremely well appointed. Good bed linen and comfortable bed. Rooms with sea view have a wonderful full sea view. The pool and pool staff are great and if you want to spend time on the beach it is only a 5 minute walk away. Highly recommended.
