Reviews for Belmond El Encanto
We spent our 30th Anniversary at the El Encanto, we enjoyed four wonderful nights in the most amazing bungalow on the property. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with property. The welcoming arrival and name recognition after asking us just once for our last name and the name of our two huskies, that flawless name recognition continued until with heavy hearts we departed on the 5th day. The attention to detail, the outstanding guest service from each and every outlet and attentive staff member on property, It didn't matter if it was the bell/valet team, the F&B team, the engineering team, the landscape team, the guest reception team, the HSKP team, the pool team, the management team members, everyone at the El Encanto was on point and made us feel like we had stayed there many times before. This unique service and guest experience is truly five star, five diamond in every way, the Belmond way. The breath taking views from the pool and terrace were beautiful, day or night. The great five mile walk the front desk provided us, gave us a nice walk around Santa Barbara with our huskies, the other walk up and around the back side of the property and some even more stunning views of Santa Barbara and the lovely adjacent neighborhood. If you bring your K9 family members, let them splurge one night on an entree from the Dog Menu in the Restaurant, we did a split of the Salmon dinner for the huskies, it was a culinary delight. Thank you to the entire staff that touched us during our stay, your embraced us and made us feel so very special during our anniversary celebration. The amenities that were sent to us to enjoy were so special in every way. We will be back to enjoy all the Belmond El Encanto has to offer sometime in 2018. Thank you!

WOW. You can tell how much work and money has been invested in this wonderful hotel. We went to celebrate our anniversary here as we know the Belmond chain very well and were not disappointed. The staff, is amazing. Whether we were in the dining room or used their shuttle service, everybody called us by our name; a very nice plus as they made us feel at home. I cannot speak too highly of the bungalows which have every amenity possible. The hotel sent us a beautiful plate of goodies and a bottle of Prosecco on our anniversary, plus receiving "congratulations" from the staff wherever we went that day. We have traveled a lot in the USA and I know that there are many places that are wonderful but this is a place which has it all; paradise just doesn't get any better!

Remarkably gorgeous setting in a city with many spectacular views. Outstanding service across-the-board from front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, pool, bell and valet staffs. Spacious, comfortable and well-decorated bungalows. Beautiful restaurant with a terrace that makes you feel like you're on the Italian Riviera.. Refined, relaxing and serene in every way, except for a few noisy children playing at the pool and a few inconsiderate dog owners. After many visits to Santa Barbara, staying at Bacara, we can't wait to return to El Encanto. Just wish they would implement a no-children policy.

I've been to this hotel several times after it was renovated. The view is so nice and it is a very nice venue to have dinner or drinks. However, my last visit with them was very disappointing. The service was horrific. Our waiter was young and very untrained. He did not come back to see how we were doing or to return for my drink order. We had to get up and find another waiter. Always a bad sign. Also, the drinks there are very limited. The mixers, they do not have 7-up and do not have regular ginger ale. They did not have specific name brand liquors. They don't have a blender so you cannot have blended drinks. I have had their Bloody Marys and Gin Fizz cocktail. Really awful. They definitely need to upgrade their drinks menu and better train their staff.

I stayed two nights at the El Encanto in connection with a closing dinner for a client. While I could not take advantage of the resort aspects of the property, I truly enjoyed staying there. The bungalow was spacious and well put together. The WiFi service was excellent; there were TVs in both the bedroom and living/work areas, and the bathroom was large and generally well done. I had a really nice dinner sitting outside on one night, as well as a delightful lunch with a friend the next day. While my bungalow did not have a view of the water, the views from the restaurant were outstanding. The service was excellent, including laundry, room service, valets and desk personnel. I would very much like to return for a true vacation. I have only one somewhat critical comment: the bath/shower requires the guest to climb into the bath--awkward and potentially a bit dangerous. I would suggest that the hotel provide a rubber mat to put in the bath to avoid anyone slipping.
