When you look up "El Encanto" in google translate words like "Charm" "spell" and "enchantment" come up - how appropriate for this slice of paradise in a mad world! There are also great new friends to be made in the form of beautiful turtles in the elegant pond. Not to mention the stunning pool overlooking the Pacific! Just sitting on the terrace having a delicious breakfast sets you up for a crazy day of relaxing!

We loved our stay at the Belmond! We went up on a Sunday for a birthday. At check-in, they upgraded us to the most gorgeous room, 2002. Having stayed at various Four Seasons, Ritz's, and Peninsula's, room 2002 blew most of those out of the water: spacious, expertly appointed, very comfortable bed and sofa. They brought by chocolate covered strawberries for a birthday treat. We had dinner there that night, where everything was superb. Particular favorite was the cauliflower soup - so light and spring-y. After checkout the next day, I realized I had forgotten my sweater at dinner. No problem! I called, they found it, and shipped it back to me -- it practically beat me home! We loved our stay, and cannot wait to go back.

Stayed at the Belmond El Encanto this weekend and was beyond impressed! Property is gorgeous, views breathtaking, and service was impeccable! I am pretty well traveled and I have to say this is one of my favorite hotels. The thought that went into the room product is rivaled by none, heated bathroom floors, perfectly laid out guest rooms; I was truly beyond impressed. The hotel restaurant also took me by surprise, of course I expected it to be good, but the Chef is incredible... the restaurant manager suggested this spicy king crab/rice dish, that absolutely rocked my husband and my world... it may be the best meal we have ever enjoyed... overall one of the best hotel stays in my adult life... we will definitely be back!

Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent service, great restaurant. A great place for families, rooms are luxurious, a definite repeat when I return to the area. The wine selection was awesome and the by the glass menu extensive.

Spent three nights here in mid March. The service is beyond outstanding and the bungalows are spacious with gas log fire places and private decks. The landscaping is quite beautiful and the restaurant has a nice selection of soups, salads and seafood. Although the bungalows are spread out, there is an intimate "feel" to it. The spa does a brisk business
