Ambience, phenomenal location, attention to detail. Magnificent furnishings, industry setting hospitality. If I could give more stars, I would. Well beyond expectations! Heritage hotels and resorts never fail to provide a memorable experience , in the best sense. Punting the days until I return.

Excellent

Everything was wonderful! Rex at the front desk and the dark hair with glasses gentleman were so helpful and friendly also the young man working evenings at the security desk/concierge! The fireplace was wonderful for the cold evening Saturday. Your hospitality overall far exceeded any expectations we had!

Disappointing stay - I'm sure there are better options in Santa Fe especially at this price. Seems to appeal to first-time tourists (like me!) who find a nice website positioning this hotel as a luxury option. Everything is a little "off". We checked into our room after a late flight and found half eaten dog treats on bed, and empty beer bottles on the desk. No one seemed too interested in helping us address the issue so given our late arrival I gave up, slept, and checked out the next day. Multiple calls / e-mails about the issue where staff says all the right things but takes no action. Maybe worth it for the right price but go in knowing the tradeoffs.

Very Dissapointed.

My daughter was married at the Eldorado on March 23rd. Since that time I have called and emailed management to discuss all the issues we encountered. I do not think they care as they will not respond. One issue was a safety issue that was brushed off. I have reached out to corporate also with no response. I hate using a review to try to get someone’s attention but after spending the amount of money we spent this was my only option.

Culture and comfort, not.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I had heard for years how Santa Fe NM was a respite from the world full of culture and comfort. What I found was jewelry knockoffs heralded as authentic, ridiculously overpriced food and a town full of dirt and sadness. The homeless were camped out in town square, in the surrounding blocks, along the river, and in several parks. There was beautiful and creative artwork. However, many of the store proprietors were pompous and lacked knowledge of the artist and their pieces. This dismal outlook was in part due to the subpar experience of the hotel El Dorado. We passed by the front desk several times during our stay heading out for a walk, running an errand or to dine. The hotel reception was not to be found. Guests would have to wait several minutes for the staff behind the glass window in the little office to look up from their phones and realize they were needed. We stayed four nights and the maid service only entered our room twice to remake the bed and empty the trash can. They did not clean the shower, replace used products or vacuum. By day three, my husband had to find the cart to request a fresh towel. Additionally, the internet went out for 2 days. We had to leave our hotel to find little cafes with Wi-Fi to catch up on work. The point of a “unique AAA Four-Diamond-rated Santa Fe hotel” is to provide basic comforts, not to make one regret leaving home.
