After being on road trip from Cambria , Flagg staff , and then arriving in New Mexico . My daughter her two sons and sheepadoodle and staying in rooms with 250 sq ft we were wanting to spread out and get 24/7 room service large rooms 1500 casitas joining and luxury beds and linens! We unpacked took boys to pool which had pool service with welcoming staff! After a refreshing swim headed back to our casitas and enjoyed all the bath amenities. Robes for kids and adults which made the boys feel welcomed. Order dinner to room which was outstanding and topped off with warm brownie and ice cream ! Watched movies in bed and had a great time! I usually stay at 5 star resorts but this was outstanding and lived up to 5+. I would go back here for sure and even just make a trip to stay longer and enjoy everything they have and offer their guest. Sorry so long winded but I just can’t say enough about resort and staff.

Absolutely great place to stay. The staff was always attentive, and the service excellent. It's about a 15-minute drive to Sante Fe. Our "casita" was well-appointed, with a fireplace inside, and one outside on the patio. A staff member will provide firewood and light either at your request. We tried room service once, and it matched the high standard set elsewhere. The restaurant and bar are top notch. Various tours are available. We took the ones to Bandelier Monument and Ghost Ranch - both excellent. This is a $$$$ place, and worth every penny. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

When my husband and I pulled up to what we thought was the main building/front desk, there were no signs anywhere, and I had to back out because it wasn’t clear we were heading in the right direction. Our first impression was “this is no Four Seasons.” We drove to our casita, at which we had to navigate a rocky, unsafe walkway. An employee helped pull our luggage, otherwise we really would have had difficulty. The atmosphere felt like a campsite. The casita had ugly concrete floors and the sitting area outside was not inviting, especially considering the dead plants. The cost is easily five times what it should be. The name should be changed; it in no way resembles a Four Seasons. We wish we had stayed at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs one more night instead of staying here.

The resort is a 15 minute drive outside Santa Fe – up in the mountains. The resort is beautiful, and the walk between our casita and the restaurant was quite pleasant. There are hiking trails on the property. This really felt like a retreat. The absolute highlight was the s’mores. When we arrived, our kiddo noted the roaring fire by the lobby and mentioned s’mores – and the front desk staffer asked if we wanted s’mores sent to our room. It turns out there are complimentary s’mores!!!! A “fire butler” came to our room and started a fire in our fireplace – and s’mores were delivered. It so cozy to fall asleep with a roaring fire. It felt totally luxurious. We took advantage of the fire butler and had s’mores on subsequent nights as well. For the most part, the staff was great – and anticipated our needs, but they were definitely short-staffed in the restaurant. At breakfast, there was a delay to be seated on most days – with much of the harried waitstaff avoiding eye-contact. Once seated, however, the waitstaff was very pleasant – but again, seemed harried. Took awhile to take our order – or to check in again once food was served. On a couple nights, we had dinner at the bar – and were pleasantly surprised to find that both the bar menu and the full dinner menu were available at the bar. The food was delicious, and the sunsets, viewed from the bar, are spectacular. The spa was lovely and peaceful, but it is spread out. To access the spa services, it was necessary to leave the locker room and go outside to a separate waiting area. After my spa service, I booked a private pool area. It was very relaxing – and in retrospect, I wish I had booked more time in the spa. The only (minor) issue was with our casita. The casita was lovely – with a sitting area outside and a fireplace in the room. When we arrived, however, the French doors that opened to our sitting area were not completely closed – and we could not get the door securely closed and locked. The fire butler could not figure out how to secure the door either. We felt a little uneasy sleeping on the 1st floor with an unlocked door, but the door was fixed the next day. The other issue – which may have been a quirk of our particular casita – was that there was no door to the bathroom. Outside the bathroom was a foyer with a closet, safe, fridge and kitchen appliances. The door that separated the bathroom area was beyond the foyer. So whenever someone was in bathroom, no one could access the closet or safe or fridge.

The resort is beautifully located in the hills about 20 minutes outside of Santa Fe. We visit Santa Fe often and usually stay right downtown either at the Inn of the Anasazi or La Posada. Rancho Encantado offers a respite from the bustle of the city center. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and serenity of the mountain setting plus all the extras that come with a top notch resort. Our casita was lovely—we enjoyed the view of the mountains from our balcony and firing up the in-room kiva fireplace. We had one of our best meals of the trip at Terra restaurant. Staff were friendly and most eager to please. We had a few hiccups with the shuttle service and housekeeping but the staff could not have done more to address the issues. We highly recommend Rancho Encantado and truly appreciate the incredibly attentive service they offer.
