Avoid this hotel

Our room was the worst stay I’ve ever had at a hotel and definitely did not live up to the reviews. It was dirty and in need of refurbishment and a deep clean. I’m guessing the positive reviews and online pictures are from select refurbished and cleaner rooms. There was paint splatter on the bathroom counter, dust and cobwebs on the walls, an uncomfortable bed. and very dated decor. We’re Hilton Honors members and typically stick with Hilton brand hotels but thought we’d give this a try since it looked so unique and charming. Pictures were deceptive. We were not impressed and regretted our choice in stay. Beware.

Overrated.

I believe the hotel is overrated. The lobby is a bit confusing in a meandering way. The room we had - King Deluxe - was okay except the barn type sliding door was off its slide rails and quite difficult to get back on - I don't know how or why it was left that way. The bed was comfortable.

New Mexico Hospitality at its Best

From the check-in to the checkout this was a well-run, comfortable, unique, well-located place to stay in Santa Fe. W have been going to Santa Fe for years and have stayed at a variety of inns and hotels. So far, this one was the best for us. The staff member, Eddie, who checked us in was a cheerful, funny, cheerful, and knowledgeable ambassador for the hotel and the town. In addition to Eddie we found all staff to be very welcoming and friendly Our room was in an adobe building decorated with southwestern touches and had its own quiet courtyard surrounded by an adobe wall. The exceptionally large room came with a fireplace, wood, great bed, fridge, and flat screen T.V. The room was very relaxing. The Inn includes a great breakfast with local choices like blue corn pancakes and breakfast burritos. Croissants, bagels, oatmeal, and fresh fruit were also available daily. One Cappuccino or designer coffee was available each day with breakfast. Parking was free.

A Funky Little Place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We checked in to our funky little room (#25) that had an old black gas stove in the corner (looks like a wood stove only runs on gas). I love a dark room for sleeping so was happy to see blinds on the small windows and shades plus blackout curtains on the large windows. Unfortunately, the mini-split AC unit is located directly over the bed. When the unit is on, the light reflects off the bright white ceiling and lights up the room. Overall, this particular room needs some love. That being said, there were many positives to our stay. The staff is great. The made-to-order breakfast is delicious. The bathroom amenities smell divine. The location is just blocks to the square with a lot of food and drink options along the way.

Peaceful holiday !!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We always stay at Las Palomas for our ski holiday . It is a 40 minute drive to the slopes and a very pleasant 5 minute walk to downtown Santa Fe where you will find many great restaurants and great entertainment at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Las Palomas has a friendly , polite staff and a wonderful place for hot coco and breakfast in the morning, We always stay in the pueblos which are very cozy and inviting with kiva fireplaces. Very comfortable great beds and peaceful courtyard for a meal or to just sit relax and enjoy the beautiful days. The atmosphere at Las Palomas is wonderful for a peaceful get away. I look forward to coming back next year. i recommend Las Palomas highly !!
