VERY DISAPPOINTED

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

**Wedding Night Stay: Extremely Disappointing Experience** The one positive - Very friendly and Nice Staff. BUT, READ BELOW. Our wedding night stay at this hotel was PROFOUNDLY disappointing. Here's a breakdown: 1. We informed the manager that it was our wedding night, AND made sure to inform him of some critical needs. Booked thru a “upgrade if available”, nothing special. Found out later plenty of open better rooms. 2. We requested a steamer and a package to be delivered to our room before our arrival due to a tight schedule between the ceremony and reception. DID NOT HAPPEN. WAS AN HOUR LATE TO OUR RECEPTION. 3. To help us relax, we asked for a bucket of ice to chill our champagne, specifying the exact time we needed it. ICE NEVER SHOWED IP 4. The hotel did not live up to its claimed luxury status. AT 800 DOLLARS A NIGHT, WE SHOULDN'T BE FETCHING OUR OWN WATER FROM THE HALLWAY. 5. The reservation included a breakfast credit, but the hotel only offered $35 per person, which is significantly lower than comparable hotels offering $80-$100 per person. Moreover, they charge $23 for an iced coffee. 6. We frequently stay at high-end hotels for both business and leisure. Unfortunately, this stay WAS ONE OF OUR MORE DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCES 7. Asked for a callback from the manager in duty. DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Lobby bar was a vibe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Went for a business meeting and had a snack and a drink at the lobby bar/restaurant. Definitely feels like you’re on vacation. Very relaxing yet upscale vibe. The staff was attentive and the outside area was very a pleasant oasis complete with small waterfall koi pond.

Fairmont was super clean!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Monica and Alex's customer service with reservations was 5 stars. They made sure we had the perfect room for my daughter and I's week long stay and it was exceptionally clean. The front desk clerk, Ariana, was also outstanding. She even called our first morning and asked if we would like to change rooms because people were complaining about the Club down in the parking lot was too loud. It wasn't too loud for us since we're night owls. We just kept the fan on the AC on and never heard a thing. The Sushi restaurant could use a better server. He refused to clean my sticky bar setting and said that was just the way it was. He couldn't even get all the soy sauce up, much less the sticky wasabi. We got up and walked out. We then went down to FIG and the server was even worse. He never introduced himself, and kept walking away from us as we were in mid sentence. He never stayed at our table for more than two seconds. He also got mad and walked away when I hesitated to order a glass of wine or just Ice Tea. His attitude was he was GOD's gift and we were peons. However, his bus man was outstanding though, which made the dinner enjoyable. His busman is the only reason he got a 15% tip, instead of 20%. Also, the late night lounge bartender was a slacker. Maybe he was tired? Would not even acknowledge our presence. We had to do the talking. Not that he asked but WE actually told him three times I was allergic to SHRIMP, but what was in my Kitchen Sink Salad when we got back to the room? FIre and Rescue paid me a visit but fortunately I stopped eating it immediately when I smelled something unusual, we ended up changing our airline tickets and had to stay another night. I stayed in bed the entire day. Will at the FIG bar was standoffish at first, however I had politely asked him not to grab our drinks with his fingers where we put our lips. But soon he changed his attitude and was very pleasant there after as we returned many times. Now the best service we received was from Chris in the FIG the next morning. Breakfast was amazing! He was funny, introduced himself, was very attentive to our needs and explained the menu perfectly. Everyone needs more Chris'. Housekeeping was perfect! The room had not a single dust and she was always smiling and helpful. And even on her day off, somehow she still left hanging on my door extra coffee and washcloths to my astonishment. Five stars for sure! The hotel is five stars except for the servers. Valet was amazing they even charged my TESLA each night complimentary. Nice not having to pay for gas! Marcus and Chris in Valet were exceptional. The HOUSE car was also very nice. Danny and his team were courteous, professional and very nice. Taking the complimentary bikes was also fun and perfect bike path to see the Santa Monica Pier. We went at dusk and was a fab time even going through the Promenade for shopping. Overall everything was great and the North view of the Santa Monica Pier was superb. Overall, I think this place has it going on... would love to return one day soon:)

Lousy staff at front desk and restaurant. Way too expensive for what we received. I paid for 7 nights and couldn’t have been less impressed

Lovely stay at Fairmont Miramar!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

A lovely stay at the Fairmont Miramar! My family and I stayed in a Palisades Suite while in town for a wedding. We had a corner suite on the 5th floor and it was a very positive experience. While I wouldn’t characterize the suite as luxurious, the furnishings were comfortable and the service was very good. Key reasons to stay at this hotel are location, spacious size of the rooms, and hotel amenities. One suggestion I would have that would elevate the room experience would be to have real cups for coffee, not paper cups. Other positives: - Dogtown coffee - great! - Lunch at the Fig and drinks/nibbles at the Lobby Lounge - Attentive, lovely staff The Fairmont Miramar has beautiful grounds and long standing history in Santa Monica. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
