The Fairmount Miramar Santa Monica is a superbly managed facility. The grounds are gorgeous with a beautiful garden and lovely sitting areas overlooking the ocean. The pool and sauna and steam facilities are great. The food in the restaurants is very high-quality and the lobby has a very fun vibe in the evening. But what makes this Hotel stand out is how well managed it is. In the last month I have stayed at several properties in Europe run by the various highest Hotel companies and they didn’t approach anywhere near this level of service. Everything went smoothly from the valet service, to the waiters ,to the house cleaning, to front guest check in. It really shows a strong attention to detail and management skills from the top down. An absolutely wonderful hotel!

Avoid this hotel on weekends at all costs! At 3 pm I wait online with 9 other people for 20 minutes to check in to find out room not ready, or should say rooms not ready also for everyone else. Then charged $82 for valet parking bc I have to valet park my car bc my room is not ready and don’t want to drive around looking for street parking while waiting for room. At 4:30 I get a $100 incidental charge on my Amex but no call to say room is ready. Came for beautiful beach weekend at iconic Santa Monica hotel. Asleep and keep waking up to Bungalow Bar below me blasting … blasting music. No warning at check in . I call desk to find out bar open until 2 am.. more important for corporate to make profit off alcohol patrons at street bar than $600 night hotel guests staying here! What a joke. Never again.

I stay here pretty regularly for work. There are some warts, but in general I like this place. The good: the property itself is really cool. Beautiful massive tree out front. Bungalows and a cool garden in a great location right next to the ocean. The service is solid, I like the restaurants, nice lobby and decent bar (though it closes early.) The bad: the whole place is showing wear. But the older back tower is where the rooms are really showing their wear. Furniture is a bit beat up. Oddly, shower faucets are often bent or broken, and my last room made a big ugly power strip with like 6 things plugged into it on the floor next to the bed. (Those rooms are nice and big though.) The gym is also a bit beat up. The peloton was broken, with pieces lying on the floor. But it’s open air and you can work out with a great view, so it’s not all bad. Anyway, the place needs some TLC, but it’s still a place I’d recommend.

We visited this hotel as part of a Colts fans experience sporting event. The room was fantastic and overlooked the ocean. Arrianna, the guest experience professional at the front desk, was OUTSTANDING! She made the check-in process smooth and painless, all while juggling multiple demands of her time and attention.

My husband and I just returned from a great weekend at the Fairmont Miramar. We had a wedding nearby and decided to spludge for a bungalow. I had stayed at the miramar years ago and wasn't that impressed with the regular rooms. The bungalow was very nice and what made our stay excellent was the staff. Upon checking in Ariana was warm, friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed breakfast at Fig and Carlos had the same warm and friendly charm. The short amount of time we spent at the pool was made even better with Karla and Fidel. Thank you to everyone for making this short stay so nice.
