From the moment I arrived, I had a feeling this was going to be a disappointment, and it was. I booked this getaway to celebrate my birthday. There was a delivery van blocking the front drive. When we were finally greeted by a valet, they were not welcoming or friendly, surprising considering your other reviews. Check in was odd. What a tiny front desk. They had two line with stantions. However there wasn’t an exit to the roped line, so you had to cut back through the line to get to out. The front desk agent did provide and hotel amenity info, and as an American Express Fine hotels & resort program there was no welcome letter. I had to ask where I could use the daily breakfast. That is an AMEX requirement/standard. No mention or advance notice of the construction in the lobby for the movie filming. It was a mess. The rooms were nice, but so dated and tired. When the switches are dirty and yellowed from age. Finger prints on the window, desk and TV. And the bathroom was an embarrassment. The mirror was even hung crooked. I requested a 1:30 checkout, which they denied and offered me a 1PM. I had to remind them that with AMEX FHR 4 pm is guaranteed. The pluses were a wonderful bed. They did send an amenity for my birthday. Generic but a nice touch. At check out, there was only one agent. He was helping a guest. The guest was finished and neither the agent or the bellman behind the desk offered any assistance or said we will be with you in a moment. I said I just need to check out. I hope o get a folio emailed as I had to get in my uber. None of the front desk agents had name tags on. Pool was nice. Only one gentleman working the pool so service was extremely slow. No attendant to help with towels or chairs and the water station was out of cups. In the morning I was awoken to the sound the construction for what ever they were building for filming. The was around 7am. Overall, this was extremely disappointing considering the rates charged. I would not recommend or return. The rooms are long overdue for a renovation. The wallpaper sheds and looks like hair. So disappointed.

I had some issues during my stay, but when talking with the staff at the Fairmont its very clear that they prioritize customer service. Especially helpful was Ethan during my check out... he asked about the stay and then did everything in his power to mitigate the issues. This was not only appreciated but very welcomed considering great customer service is hard to come by. Kudos to Ethan for making sure my last impression upon checking out was a very positive one!!

My wife and I drove separately to the hotel, and when it came time to go home, unfortunately, we didn’t have cash to tip our valets- Rogelio and Bryan. Regardless, they gave us service with a smile. Perhaps, going forward , the valets can share their Venmo QR codes for us non-cash-carrying types to tip them

Had a lovely short stay at a new for me property. There on business. Mateo at the front desk went out of his way to make my short stay special! I ate in the lobby loung and the food was delicious. The meeting staff did a great job with both the food and supporting our small meeting. If you have a small meeting you would like in a great hotel, this could be really nice. Downside is that all the meeting rooms are in the basement, meaning no natural light - maybe be sure your breaks and meals are topside in natural light.

We were looking for a wonderful location in Santa Monica ...when we arrived at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows we found a marvelous hotel, with a great concierge to help us and a superb view of the ocean! It was a dream come true.
