Beautiful hotel close to 3rd Street Promenade and the beach. Great location to beach, restaurants and 3rd Street Promenade. It's very trendy and upscale and decorated beautifully but the staff (front desk) was not friendly and not helpful at all. I've stayed at some beautiful 5-star hotels and this certainly looks like one but they treat their guests with disdain. I was not impressed with front desk or the Penthouse staff at all - they act like they are doing a favor if they deign to speak to the guests. Someone had a horrible headache and requested aspirin -- housekeeping doesn't stock any, giftshop was closed and the only recommendation the front desk has was to go the the nearest gas station several blocks away --?? No offer to help and I was surprised that they didn't have anything to help -- it being a trendy "party" hotel seems like they'd have something on hand. Our room was on 15th floor- gorgeous view but was extremely noisy 24 hours a day with weird sounds/vibrating noises - I thought maybe it was the Penthouse restaurant that turns into a bar/club at night but it was constant -- turns out the front desk told us at check-out that it was probably the elevator. For an upscale, expensive hotel, they should warn guests or insulate the elevators much better. As a travel industry professional,I wouldn't stay here again for a 5-star experience-- just visit the (very noisy) Penthouse for drinks and "to be seen".

Stayed here for one night for a meeting nearby. Super convenient location in Santa Monica. Stayed in Jr suite which had a great bed, tub, shower and amazing views. Didn't get a chance to check out the food, but the bar on top of the hotel is very cool and has amazing views. Overall, I will be back again the next time I am in Santa Monica.

My fiance and I chose the Huntley Hotel for our first trip to Santa Monica based on the location and beautiful interior shown in pictures. It was stated that their was free wifi. Upon check-in the front desk gentleman was very friendly and upgraded us to an ocean view room on the 16th floor as we were celebrating our anniversary. I was saddened to learn there was not a pool on site. We were able to check in early and our room was very clean with beautiful modern decor and features. The mini fridge was full and a sign stated $25 if we were to place personal items. We called down to have a mini fridge brought up and it prompty arrived. The first morning we were walking out and asked the front desk for 2 water bottles as there was no free water in the room. She gave us a confused glance and referred us to purchase water at the cafe. Considering the cost of the hotel, and considering I have stayed at many hotels, this was odd. On our last night I was unable to sleep until 2:00 am as there was a loud event in which we could hear blaring DJ music, heels stomping, dancing and loud noises above us. I did not anticipate this to be an issue when we were upgraded to this room nor had anyone advised us of a noise warning. I finally phoned down and asked when the event would be over as it was very disruptive. The gentlman responded 1:30 madam. No apology or anything! Upon check out the front desk was able to extend our check out by one hour until 1:00pm as we had a evening flight. Once checking out I noticed a $25 per night amentities fee. I found this laughable as the only amenity was a small gym which we did not use. When i asked the young man at the front desk he stated this fee covered the wifi, nightly turn down service, water bottles and free bikes. I explained we did not recieve any water bottles or turn down service during our stay, nor were we made aware of the bikes. He then stated it should be stated on your confirmation e-mail-rude. And isnt the wifi technically free so why is there a charge√Č He continued and said √íH i see you ate the chocolate caramels, I can cover those for you.`I told him I did not eat any of the bar snacks, but I may as well have. We kindly asked if there was anything he could do for us as we had not used the $50 amentities. He did not. Our trip started on a high note with an upgrade, but that same upgrade cost us sleep on our last night. Pros: beautiful interior decor, clean, ocean views, location, penthouse rooftop restaurant Cons: 25$ nighly amenitiy fee, no pool, poor staff

I wanted to go to Santa Monica after my last trip to LA with friends. This time I stayed with my family. From the plush toiletries to the cabanna style areas in the restaurant it felt like a luxury beach holiday. I found it strange there was no where to hang your towels, you are suppose to just order more up when they are damp.

The hotel was very nice. The service was outstanding. The location is great. The rooms were very comfortable and modern. Nice amenities in the room and very comfortable beds. Although being on the upper floors is very nice because of the view, the noise from the penthouse restaurant / club can be very loud on the weekends. We stayed on the 16th floor and were woken up both nights around midnight to 1 am from music coming from the penthouse on the 18th floor. It really isn't a big deal but if you plan on sleeping before 1:30 am or have children I would ask to be on a lower floor.
