We decided to stay at the Huntley because shutters on the beach was doing some room renovations and other trip advisors warned us it was very noisy. This hotel is very nice and most of the employees were very friendly and helpful and apologetic when things like having to wait 25 minutes for your car occurred. We were upgraded to a very nice suite, but I think that an upgrade in room decor is warranted. The bed was pretty comfortable, we knew about the charge for the parking and it was in a good location. The view from our room was phenomenal and we didn't have to go to the penthouse with the crowds to watch the sunset. The first two nights when bed turn down was done, chocolates were left but not enough for the three of us in the room and waters were not left as occurred on subsequent nights. I guess it was a different maid service. There are too many other wonderful looking and sounding hotels in the area to stay here again. Next time will try one of the others.

This hotel definitely cuts corners on quality and service but you won't be able to tell from its beautiful website or marketing photos. Front desk service was terrible and the beds were Motel 6 quality. Charged for an expensive mini-bar item we didn't touch, the front desk told me they would need to check and call me after they did their routine confirmation. The crew checked the mini bar and the item was intact, unopened and in its proper position. The front desk told me I would be refunded and I haven't been. The next day that large mini-bar charge appeared on my credit card statement. Also parking is $46/night (which is market value in Santa Monica) but nobody disclosed the cost of parking to me prior to check in. So when the bill came, it was a bit of a shock. Definitely do your homework online, Santa Monica is amazing and there are so many hotel and resort options. If you're looking for luxury, don't stay here. If you're looking for a Comfort Inn disguised with Burlington Coat Factory embellishments and lackluster service for $500/night? You're in the right place.

Immaculate, friendly staff, well appointed rooms (with Bulgari shower products, no less). Bed was incredibly comfortable and views of the ocean were fantastic. Nespresso coffee machine in the rooms, so your morning starts off well.Well worth the price tag

My best laid plans for a romantic one-night birthday staycation in a Premier Ocean View Suite were dashed on the rocks of shoddy customer service here at the Huntley. Here's the lowdown...About 30 minutes after we settled into the cozy king bed for a celebratory slumber it suddenly sounded like the management had turned on the Trevi Fountain right above us. At first we thought maybe the guests above were draining the tub, but 15 minutes later the cascading sound of water grew louder. A polite call to the front desk yielded a promise to investigate. Another half hour passes. A second, more impatient, call to the front desk brought the manager on duty to our room where she confirmed that there was indeed an "unusual loud water sound" in our room. Another promise to "resolve" the issue was met with another 40 minutes of my wife grinding her teeth under the covers waiting for a resolution and a half-raised white flag as she frustratedly mumbled, "It's OK honey, we live just a few blocks away, we can Lyft home, sleep in our bed and come back for our stuff in the morning." Long story short, management finally gave us a room 3 floors higher at about midnight. So we marched upstairs in our PJs and tucked into the new shoebox room we'd been given with hopes of sleeping off the frustration....Customer Service Fail!
