La Maltese Estate in Santorini, Greece
Legendary sunsets, as beautiful as a dream, will take your breathe away as they fall over the equally gorgeous La Maltese Estate in Imerovigli, Santorini. Dramatically set 250 meters above the Aegean, at the edge of the caldera of this famous Greek island, this all-suite estate effortlessly combines the modern and the mythical with a location unlike any other. With an elegant sophistication and opulence, each apartment-style suite is part old world charm and part contemporary oasis. Rich antique furniture and ornate four-poster beds and accents contrast wonderfully with the flowing Cycladic style to create a charmingly warm, ambient space that instantly soothes and comforts. Step out through large French doors to a terrace, complete with majestic views and invitingly plush sunbeds. A gem of Santorini, La Maltese Estate invites you to join the tranquil flow of the island, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Aegean.
Sink into comfort in the bright morning light, stretched out next to the pool, after indulging in a full body treatment at the Spa. Sip a cocktail and cool off with a dip in the pool before heading out to sail around the caldera and into the sea on a luxurious yacht cruise. Take an amazing private helicopter tour above the island, watching the Aegean stretch into the distance, then explore Santorini up close. Visit Kamari and hike to the site of Ancient Thera, founded in the 9th century BC, then be amazed by the ancient sophistication found at the archaeological site of Akrotiri. Explore the ocean depths first hand with a caldera dive that is truly stunning, passing over reefs, through caverns, and along Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni, the two "new" volcanic islands in the center. Hike from the nearby capital of Fira, passing through Imerovigli, on the way to Oia to experience a sunset that has captivated people for thousands of years. Afterwards, return to the estate for a romantic candlelight dinner and relax on the terrace. Over exceptional seasonal Greek cuisine that will leave your palate craving another taste, sip a glass of fine local wine and sink into the night's deep velvety romance at La Maltese Estate.

Reviews for La Maltese Estate
With a terrible view of a busy car park, shoddy room and broken shower, terrible attitude of the manager and daily complaints from other guests, this hotel was awful. So bad we left after 4 days of a 7 day booking. Would not stay here again if it was the only hotel in Santorini.

On arrival I was taken to a horrendous apartment not part of the hotel. Mind you, I had booked their top end family room. They told me there were people already in that room and I had no choice but to stay in the sub standard apartment. La Maltese is running a scam and they did not even refund me the difference. They instead offered me a free dinner which I declined. The ruined my experience of Santorini and did not even care that I was traveling with children. The apartment had beds in the kitchen, fruit flies and smelled hideous. This hotel does not deserve four star. It was the worst holiday experience I have ever had.

I'm just posting this because I had blocked this negative time I had with this "hotel." Arriving at the hotel wasted an entire afternoon trying to deal with their incompetence. I had booked a room two months in advanced and everything was confirmed. However, at arrival, they didn't have any rooms because they were overbooked. We had booked a room with ocean view and they told us that we could have a room without view which was half what we paid for, or we could just go to a different hotel. The treatment was horrendous coming from the people in charge. They didn't even give us the difference of the price back. I still had a great experience in Santorini, but this scam hotel was just the worst. What makes me more upset about this, is that I spent an entire afternoon fighting this people because everything was mostly booked. I highly recommend for you to avoid this hotel because they will scam you. Just as airlines do, they overbook to ensure they are profitable and any extra people, will be turned away!
We checked in on the first day and were told the room has electricity problem and has to move to another hotel instead for one night. We were unhappy but it worked out very well. We stayed in the worst room of superior room with shared pool but that pool is like a pond and it faces to the parking lot. The room is small compared to the price we paid, it's like a motel room in US. The lights are white and its noisy at night. However those who get a caldera view, they seemed very much enjoyed. Don't book the room with shared pool! Staff are good though. Hotel manager Angelo is reasonable and gave us free lunch and dinner in Budda bar instead as compensation. The meal was excellent.

Visited with a group of friends in late August. The views were incredible! The hotel staff was nice, but kind of understaffed. The location is great, as you can walk into town and all around the sights. The hotel could use a deep cleaning. Overall the room was spacious. The bar was pretty.
