Cavallo Point Lodge

This is a lovely resort just over the Golden Gate in Sausalito. The views are amazing, and it feels very removed from the San Francisco, yet it is minutes away. We appreciated being able to meet friends for dinner in downtown SF at night (via Uber) and having great access to Muir Woods and rest of Marin during the weekend. Our rooms in the newer part of the resort were very large and super-comfortable. The bathroom was great, the fireplace was very cozy, and being able to hear the sounds of the bay as we woke up was really cool. We enjoyed a very good breakfast both in the restaurant and via room service (included as part of AMEX FHR rate). The staff are great, especially the valets and restaurant folks. Only slight complaint is that landscaping could use a slight bit of care, but the location is stunning. We really felt like we were at a remote hide-away, yet were so close to town.

Fantastic Location near the Golden Gate Bridge and beautiful Hiking Paths just out your door.The Cottages have plenty of space and have a truly Vintage Homey Feeling to it. Morning Walks are so relaxing and if you have a dog..its just perfect there!

We were in town for a wedding. This is a "laid back" environment. No glitz and glamour but warm and inviting. Our stay was exceptional in every way. The entire staff is there to serve your every need.

My wife and I went here on our anniversary, there were two weddings while we were there. We were denied access to the spa because it was fully booked. Couldn’t even use the basic amenities. We didn’t have any champagne or nice touches, even though the staff knew it was our anniversary. For a hotel of this caliber and price, this disappointed us. We have had friends who had their weddings here and have raved to us that we should go there. I wish we had a better experience. We had brunch on the property and it was the only bright spot other than the cleanliness of the room.

Loved the free wine tasting in the lobby (we loved the brand - ended up buying a bottle & snacks from the market to enjoy on property!) The Lexus cars were really nice for exploring the city & Sausalito, loved the room itself (was in the contemporary one - felt large and clean and had a great view of the golden gate bridge!) The staff members I met on property were great as well, very helpful and kind.
