What a splendid resort! Stayed in a historic king suite with my husband and adult daughter - the room was very generous in size. My daughter had the queen sofa sleeper in the living room - it had a door to give her privacy. Our bedroom was beautiful - the furnishing and the fireplace made it cozy - and the windows open for a nice breeze. The room included a good sized fridge and a Nespresso machine with coffees. A tea pot and a filtered water pitcher are also available for use. The bathroom was exquisite - separate shower and tub with fantastic woven towels - bath towels AND bath sheets were included! Take the time to explore the grounds - this was a former military installation with wonderful historic items. It is dog friendly and has an enormous lawn for the dogs to play. We sat on the lobby porch with our complementary wine with heat lamps to keep warm. we also sat on our shared porch - none of our "housemates" used this facility and we were out there for hours watching the lights of San Francisco across the Bay. The staff are exceptional offering impeccable service. There is a nice fitness center and spa with a steam room. Yoga is available in the mornings! The lobby has freshly baked croissants and coffee and tea in the mornings to begin your day. Farley's Bar has great beverages and a nice menu. Be sure to try the cherry lemon shortbread cookies! We took the shuttle to Fisherman's Wharf for the day and then took the ferry back to Sausalito where we were picked up by the hotel shuttle. The shuttle driver was running late to pick us up, but compensated us with a bottle of wine for the delay. This hotel understands how important their guests are and treats them with respect. The service at Cavallo Point is sensational! We certainly plan to return here in the future!

Lovely hotel tucked away as an old army base converted into a hotel. It has contemporary new rooms, and older updated rooms in the actual barracks. Each have pros and cons. The hotel is spread out, a la resort style. Fabulous views of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge, and access to great hiking trails. I stayed in a contemporary room; quiet, up to date, wonderful bed, spacious bathroom, soft towels, great smelling soaps and lotion, and fabulous views. A few things to consider: You are close to Sausalito, but not to shopping or a grocery store. If you need a bottle of water, they have pitchers of water in the rooms. Its a little....weird. So, bring bottled water if that is your thing (I refilled my Swell bottle in the gym the entire time I stayed there). I had NO cell coverage here (I have AT&T). I lived and died by the wifi. Sometimes signal was great, sometimes it was not. You truly have to disconnect here (which is not always a bad thing!) It was a $45.00 Lyft ride from SFO. Wild life is abundant. I encountered plenty of deer, a raccoon, and a huge skunk on my early morning walk. Shopping store onsite is adorable, but expensive. Restaurant onsite is delicious. Gym is nice; I did not make it to the spa. Back to the water comment. I did not find a vendor machine on site. They have water bubblers in the main hotel building, but if you are walking back to your room, make sure you have what you need. Store is more clothing and gifts than travel amenities. All in all, I enjoyed the hotel. The outdoor options and the sites cannot be beat. The rooms are spacious and wonderful. I would stay here again in a second.

The lodging in the contemporary rooms is VERY NICE! I recommend it! And the free yoga is lovely! The location can't be beat, and the restaurant is decent. The spa has WONDERFUL services, but the locker rooms in the spa are IN NEED OF CLEANING. Hair is always in the showers, dirt in the lockers, the jacuzzi has black mold around the tiles. AND there are no logically placed hooks for robes & towels near the jacuzzi - they are near the ground which makes ZERO sense. Ditto the lockers - they are so small that nothing fits.

Have stayed at Carvallo Point on numerous occasions. Have been here with family, but had a corporate retreat this time. Our meeting room was the chapel - which I thought was awesome. The property has a great restaurant and bar. My morning ritual was to run up a hill and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Come back and have a nice breakfast and start the day. Can't beat it.

Went with my family for a wedding. An old army base converted into a hotel. It is in a dramatic location nestled right under the Golden Gate Bridge. The rooms are spacious, modern, and have great views of either the water or the mist rising over the hills behind. Loved it. Beautiful restaurant where you can sit out and look at the city beyond the bay.
