Panoramic views of the sparkling San Francisco Bay and verdant Marin headlands are the centerpiece of Cavallo Point Lodge – part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Entrenched in rolling hilltops bordering the Pacific ocean, this former US Army post harbors an exclusive location with unique amenitites. Originally built as Fort Baker in the early 1900s, historic lodgings were once military barracks during World War II. Ideally located at the northern tip of the Golden Gate Bridge, minutes to San Francisco hot spots, the quaint town of Sausalito, and incredible national parks; enjoy the ease of exploring the bay from the center of it all. Not only are accommodations beautiful and rare, this hotel is also a LEED Gold certified eco-resort.

We treated ourselves to a weekend staycation at Cavallo Point after the holidays, and it was exquisite on every level. Every interaction felt thoughtful and deeply personal. A heartfelt thank you to Loyn at the front desk for patiently walking us through the options and guiding us to the perfect junior suite with a bridge view, to Maryann in concierge, and to Lisa at the front desk, who went above and beyond to seamlessly salvage our spa plans after we missed a booking detail. Valets Roly and Aidan elevated the experience further with a courtesy Lexus, and Nestor at brunch anticipated our needs with such ease and care. We were also so appreciative of the spa team, from the gracious tour of the facilities to the incredibly kind women’s spa attendant, as well as a charming bellhop who wrapped up our stay beautifully. We booked through AmEx Platinum’s Fine Hotels + Resorts program, and thanks to the seamless care of General Manager Martin Nicholson, everything unfolded effortlessly. From the room upgrade and resort credit to breakfast, spa access, late checkout, and a lovely welcome of chocolates and elegant nuts, every detail felt intentional. After an unexpectedly exhausting winter break, this stay was exactly what we needed. Add perfect blue skies, a quick golf cart ride to catch our friends’ band play at the Presidio Yacht Club, and a starlit walk back with the bridge glowing, and it was nothing short of magical. This wasn’t our first stay at Cavallo Point, and it certainly won’t be our last!

Hi had a massage on Christmas Day from Heart and he was outstanding! One of my favorite massages ever. He was extremely calming and very killed massage therapist. I highly recommend him! With a name like Heart, how can you go wrong?!

we had a family reunion lunch at Sula in a private dining room. The service and food were excellent. Helen was helpful with setting it up and Arthur was the best head waiter.Support staff were all wonderful. I highly recommend this experience.
