The Inn Above Tide

I am confused and annoyed! We have stayed at the Inn several times and there is no other lodging to compare with it in Sausalito. We always book a Deluxe king fireplace room and some of our best times have been just sitting by the fireplace while it rains. It seems, however, they have redecorated since our last visit. The Deluxe King now seems to have only one chair. We had to book a Queen (which is uncomfortable for us and generally a big no-no) just to get two chairs. These rooms are over $700 per night overall and they didn't guess that both people in a room might like a place to sit??? We could pay $1800/2000 per night for a suite, but we don't want or need it. I'm sure we will enjoy our stay, but this really steamed me!!!

This Hotel is as near perfect as you can get. Beautiful position, quiet and restful, lovely staff and great continental breakfast. Our first floor (US)/ground floor (UK) room had a balcony almost touching the waters of San Francisco Bay with truly stunning views across the water to the city. The staff are exceptionally helpful and pleasant with special mention to Henry and Marco for help with luggage and car parking ($35 per day). The ferry to San Francisco is super handy right next to the Hotel and many great restaurants are also nearby. Can’t wait to return.

This gorgeous Hotel sits overlooking the bay in Sausalito. All the rooms have a fantastic view of San Francisco and Alcatraz. It’s very comfortable and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. The ferry is right outside your door which takes you over to the city of San Francisco. I would definitely return here , hopefully someday.

We just stayed at the Inn Above Tide for four days after a business trip in Europe. My clients had placed us in an elegant seaside resort in Italy and in a classic elegant hotel in the capital. Staying at the Inn Above Tide was even better than those hotels. Service: The staff have a casual, friendly style of interaction that makes you feel like it's your fifth visit instead of your first, and they remember and like you. Their offers to help with something are proactive and sincere, not dutiful and routine. The Rooms: Incredible views of SF right on the shore of San Francisco Bay, Immaculate in every way, modernized tastefully. The morning breakfast and afternoon reception: The breakfast has a wonderful variety of foods, and the wine, cheese and snacks in the afternoon are excellent. The Setting: Multiple highly rated restaurants with a variety of cuisines are within a five minute walk... or seven minutes if you want a sushi restaurant with a national reputation. If you're looking for a honeymoon spot (or a second honeymoon) this would be on top of my list.

We had the most incredible stay at Inn Above Tide in Sausalito. We were upgraded to the City Lights Spa Suite, and it was honestly the nicest place we’ve ever stayed. We’ve traveled quite a bit, and this felt special in a way that’s hard to put into words. The views from the deck are unparalleled, looking out over San Francisco, the bay bridge, the golden gate bridge, and Alcatraz. We spent a lot of time sitting out on the deck taking it all in. The room itself was beautiful with everything you could want, from heated bathroom floors and plush robes to luxury bath products and a cozy fireplace. There were lots of small touches that made it feel very special, like the binoculars for the views and other thoughtful details throughout. Everything felt high-end but still very warm and comfortable. We also really appreciated the included delicious breakfast, all day coffee and tea, and the wine and cheese hour. The location is perfect, right on the water in the heart of Sausalito. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the stay even better. It truly felt like a once in a lifetime getaway. We honestly didn’t want to leave.
