It has been 3 years since we last stayed at the Inn, but you wouldn't know this from the reception upon arrival. As soon as we arrived the hotel, the staff treated, and greeted us like it just last week. We were welcomed back like old friends. This trip we had arranged the Vista Suite for our stay. However, on arrival we given a complementary upgrade to the Penthouse Suite! The last time we were here we had the PH, so knew exactly what to expect. What a way to start our anniversary trip. The Inn hasn't stood still in the time since our last stay, and the decor and fittings are all fresh. The service and level of accommodation are first rate. All the staff couldn't be more helpful and all know you by name. The evening complementary wine and cheese's are still a wonderful touch, and help smooth the way before dining out in one of Sausalito's many great restaurants. 2 personal favourites of ours were the Buckeye Roadhouse and the Barrel House Tavern. The latter being right next door to the Inn. The only regret we have is that we couldn't stay longer. We only had the 2 days at the Inn this time. But rest assured we are definitely coming back, especially as they have 2 new room additions. With one being a large suite at water level we would love to try.

Stayed 2 nights April 2018. Stunning location and views across the bay, which is essentially what you're paying for. Excellent service and team at the front desk. Breakfast is very good, with bagels and fresh fruit and can be taken in your room. Wine & cheese in the evening is a nice touch. We stayed in a King Deluxe. 2 nights for $1,019. The room is comfortable, but the bathroom no more than average and falls well short for the price of the room. Poor shower over a bath, with a shower curtain. Not quite $500 a night standards. It does lack a bar, but plenty nearby to suit most tastes. In summary, it's overpriced, but if you want the best view on the bay - this is it.

I booked this place for 3 nights as a surprise for my partner as part of our trip from the UK to California. We stayed in a queen deluxe room with fireplace and balcony and OMG the room was just breathtaking. The pictures on tripadvisor and their website don’t even begin to capture how beautifully appointed the room was. On arrival we were given a bottle of champagne which we enjoyed on our balcony. The view was just unbelievable and our balcony was so peaceful. We spent the mornings watching the sunrise with the doors wide open then enjoying breakfast in bed. The breakfast was delicious with loads of fresh fruit and wonderful pastries. The evening wine and cheese reception was also a nice touch with good quality wines and excellent cheese selection. The staff here are friendly, attentive and welcoming. They literally can’t do enough for you. Housekeeping made the room look wonderful each day and left chocolates each evening during the turn down service. It’s the smaller things that make this hotel 5 star. Bulgari toiletries, beautiful bathroom, fresh flowers, 24 hour tea/coffee, DVD’s to watch in the room, newspaper each morning, comfortable beds... I could carry on! In summary- if visiting the area this place is an absolute must. The best hotel I have ever stayed in.

This place was amazing. The view of the bay was incredible and the fireplace made the room feel so cozy. The service here was outstanding ! Free use of bikes/helmets... great breakfast with pastries, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice and more... nightly wine and cheese reception... Location is also a plus..we never even used our car... plenty to see by walking, biking, or by taking the ferry.. absolutely loved this place ♥️♥️♥️

You get what you pay for. This place is expensive as all get out, but you get the value for every dollar spent. We stayed in the Vista Suite for two nights to celebrate a big birthday. Our room had a long row of windows looking out on the bay, the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz and more. It had a wood-burning fireplace prepared by the staff each day. It had a Jacuzzi-style tub with a view out the window. Nothing is more peace-inducing that a waterfront, and watching this waterfront was about as perfect an experience as you could have. What makes this even more of an ideal experience is the high quality of the room. Because this place fronts on the water, it really doesn't have to be the great room. You pay for the view. But no expense has been spared on the details in this room. It is fabulous. We sat on our deck and watched stand-up paddle boarders, kayakers, boaters, sea birds and even a seal, who popped up not10 feet from us. We will never forget this place.
