My wife and I have traveled all over the world and stayed in fabulous hotels but our suite at The Inn Above Tide was easily one of the best. The Inn is positioned in a quiet nock in the heart of Sausalito on - actually over - the Bay. Beginning with the gracious and friendly front desk representative who checked us in, we were welcomed into a large suite with a spacious living space and sitting area in front of a wood burning fireplace. A large bathroom with double sinks, a huge shower and tons of towels and bathrobes also featured a bathtub (large enough for two) with sliding doors opening to a king sized (and very comfortable) bed, all with extraordinary views of San Francisco across the Bay, visible from inside and from a large balcony. The suite was beautifully appointed with great care, including special touches like binoculars and a map of the skyline. The staff couldn't have been nicer and offered helpful suggestions for restaurants, shopping and walking tours all over the charming town and stunning marina. The Inn is just a few steps away from the ferry to the city. The ample and delicious breakfast included hand-squeezed OJ, hot coffee and tea, a wide array of pastries, quiche, hard boiled eggs, berries, melon, and other fruit. We had such a relaxing stay at the Inn and can't wait to return as soon - and as often - as we can. Thanks to the staff and management for giving us an extraordinary experience.

We chose this quaint, unique hotel after reading about it in Condé Nast. We're so glad we began our San Francisco vacation with a night spent here! The staff is exceptionally friendly and we arrived just in time for the wine and cheese reception. The view from the room is just as depicted in the photos. We sat on the balcony enjoying our morning breakfast and watching the sea lions, boats, and kayakers on the ocean below. Don't forget to take advantage of the free bicycles to take a ride on the local streets. Only complaint: we wanted to enjoy a glass of wine in our room, but the refrigerator only contained liquor, so plan ahead if you think you might want wine later in the evening. Spectacular overall!

This boutique hotel can't be beaten for location. It's on the bay with amazing views from your terrace of Alcatraz & beyond to San Fransisco. Close to the ferry terminal but really peaceful at night. Staff lovely, rooms were small but had everything you needed & little extras like never ending toiletries & bottled water were appreciated. Best thing in the evening was the complimentary wine & cheese reception - a must do before you venture out for dinner. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious & you can just take it back to your room terrace and enjoy the view. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights over the Memorial Day weekend and it was fabulous. I was looking forward to just unwinding and relaxing, and Inn Above the Tide was just perfect. The service from all the staff was impeccable, the morning spread was fabulous and as much wine as you want in the evenings. I don't usually specify race in my reviews, but after reading another review from an African American woman I almost cancelled my stay. I too am African American and my husband is Japanese, but we had a great time and had no problems. The only criticism about the whole stay is that although the balconies are wonderful, you can hear your neighbors and it makes you quite aware of the noise if any. Another good thing about the hotel is it is right next to the pier, so very easy to take the ferry and also everything in Sausalito is close by. Enjoy!

This is a beautIful little hotel in a such a beautiful town. It is just across the bridge from San Fran but totally away from the hustle & bustle - alive in the day when the boat brings tourists across and completely quiet in the evenings. We stayed for two days In a lovely waterfront room, It was perfect and luxurious! We wanted a break as we just arrived from Vegas and this was exactly what we needed. We borrowed the hotel bikes two days - one day we biked up to the bridge (ok this is not for the faint hearted) and also out the other direction along the waterfront. We had breakfast there both days, it was perfect along with some wine and cheese in the evening - a great touch! Also, we parked our car there, was perfectly safe. Well done to all, your hotel stands out, its quirky and luxurious at the same time. Staff were a pleasure to deal with. We hope to return some day!
