About the Hotel

Located on the banks of the Savannah River in Georgia is a hip hideaway that epitomizes Southern charm. Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront, with its maritime overtones and modern sensibilities, houses just 75 fascinating rooms in the town's scenic historic district. The public rooms feature a textured ambiance, with driftwood, aged brick and original works of art working in concert to create an eye-catching motif. Guest rooms, which have a modern maritime feel, are also rich with fine materials that include grained wood, worn brass and smooth leather. The entire hotel experience rests on the absence of ordinary, where unexpected pleasures and pleasing palettes of color reveal themselves at impromptu moments.

Horrible experience- construction noise & scaffolding.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

The hotel failed to inform us that there would be scaffolding outside all of our windows & construction noise beginning at some ungodly hour that was like a dentist’s office drill from morning until dark. When we complained we got a very small “courtesy discount” but it hardly made us feel like our money (and believe me, a riverfront room is expensive!) was well spent. Do not stay at this hotel until renovations are completed & the scaffolding is down.

Wifi is very bad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This review would be great is not for the wifi - the wifi is very bad - not much connection at all in the room and sometimes NO connection in the room. Everything else nice. But bad wifi is not an option in this day and age. You have to fix it- go around EVERY room to check it please.

Just awful!

I'm a Gold Lifetime Ambassador member with Marriott, so I travel a ton! I rarely ever have time to leave reviews, but the stay here was so egregious, I'm willing to take the time. I tried to work with Sheila, the manager, to resolve a reservation I mistakenly made for the incorrect date. After trying to reach her several times, I finally got in touch with her, and she promised to void the wrong charge and rebook me for the correct date. I check my Marriott portal over and over again, and I never see the new reservation. I call, and I call, and I call, and I call. I spoke to JB and Beatrice several times, but never to Sheila again, and she is literally never available when I try to reach her. I leave messages for her, to no avail. NEVER a return call. I finally have to get in touch with my Ambassador Concierge with Marriott, and he has been working on my behalf to solve this double charge issue that STILL (since Oct 17, 2025) has NOT been resolved. That was that issue, now to the property. The first thing I noticed upon entering my room was a massive and offensive waft of mildew. Totally gross and unacceptable. Rooms are completely dank, dark, and outdated, and the lighting is terrible, with either full-on bright lighting or barely any at all. Nothing in between. Normally, I'm greeted when I arrive with a 'Thank you' for my loyalty (sometimes accompanied by a small gift or thank-you note), but all JB greeted me with was annoyance at my arrival. No thank you, no "Have a nice stay", no "Let us know if you need anything". What a massive disappointment. I will obviously never stay here again.

Not the luxury you expect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We are very familiar with Savannah and we were on the final leg of our vacation and stopped for one last evening in Savannah. To say we were less than awed is an understatement. We chose The Bohemian over the JW Marriott property right down the way and used more points to stay and had a less than luxury experience. The room was dark, musty, door knob to the balcony broken, furnishings were tired, public restroom in the roof top bar and dining room down stairs was in disrepair and as Platinum Rewards members we couldn't get an king room (something we should have been able to get with no issue). We had just stayed in the Grand Bohemian in Asheville 3 days prior- this was fabulous and had impeccable service, so imagine the disappointment when this sister property was no where near the beauty and comfort. They need to do a complete overhaul of this space- not worth the high level of points or price!

Neat building. Musty room.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Very neat building. Lots of dark lighting and heavy woodwork. My room was on the second floor, which is two floors below ground level. The layout and finishes were very nice, but the room was musty… my pajamas still smelled like it when I got home…my wife made me change. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We found the Bohemian Hotel in Savannah to be a great hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast came with our package. We found the food to be very good and in over-sized portions. You won't leave hungry from breakfast!! They even have cold bottled water at the front door, to take with you as you walk around the lovely city. Overall we would highly recommend the hotel.
