Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia, is one of America's most interesting cities. Its series of squares, coupled with its superstitious nature, makes it a fascinating find. In the heart of the city's Historic District is the magnificently restored 1888 Mansion on Forsyth Park, a AAA Four-Diamond property. Mansion on Forsyth Park gives southern comfort new meaning with its collection of lavish guest rooms, an extensive art collection featuring more than 400 original pieces, and opulent public rooms including a lobby cloaked in onyx marble. Classic décor along with modern conveniences create a historic and indulgently luxurious hideaway.

Mansion on Forsyth Park's restaurant, 700 Drayton, is a stunning dining destination with a menu of savory specialties and an extensive wine list. There is also Casimir's Lounge, located on the second level of the restaurant and featuring live jazz and blues on the weekends, as well as the Bosendorfer Lounge. You can also visit the Poseidon Spa, hone your culinary skills by enrolling in one of the Mansion's cooking classes, or relax poolside. There is never a shortage of things to see in "America's Most Haunted City" - do a little ghost busting on a haunted history tour, or take a trek on foot to admire the splendid architecture, with many door frames, porches and window sills coated in "Haint Blue" to ward off evil spirits. More conventional activities might include shopping along the riverfront, slipping into a jazz club, or dining at The Pirates House, named for long-ago patrons who frequented the eatery in the late 1700s, which was the inspiration for Robert Lewis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island.

On a last minute whim we decided to once again visit the lovely Savannah. After staying at several autograph hotels, we were quickly sold on giving this one a shot. Excellent service, very clean rooms, and great aesthetics throughout the lobby and hallways. The oversized tub, super comfortable beds made for a relaxing stay.

Property appears nice enough and nice location. However, received a handicap room for two able bodied adults. Wet carpet outside bathroom from apparent leak, creating a slip hazard from transition from wet carpet to slick marble tile and a musty/mildew odor. Lack of customer service and overall friendliness of staff prevents rating higher than 3 stars.

My husband and I stayed here for five night in July 2017. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. However, I wouldn’t bother upgrading to the ‘concierge level’ because the food, drink and service leave a lot to be desired. It is not up the the standards of many other hotel concierge services available. Our hotel room door did not close well, and every day after we returned to our room, we found our door only partially closed. Anyone could have walked in and stolen our belongings. Housekeeping didn’t pull the door closed. These issues are easily solvable by a great management team, and I hope they do correct these issues. The location is VERY convenient and Savannah is probably the best walkable town in the country.

We stayed one night on a road trip. Although the location was great, there really wasn't anything special about the hotel. The room was decent but definitely not a fan of the fact that there were no walls in the bathroom. No privacy!

A luxury mansion turned into a hotel. Rooms are all amazing. The restaurant (77 Drayton) has incredible foot and expert staff. There is an art gallery (Bohemian), a lounge and bar, shuttle to the sister property on the waterfront (The Bohemian), a cooking school, and of course you can just relax.
