FABULOUS HOTEL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

This hotel was absolutely perfect. We loved the location, and the staff were amazing—especially Brigitte, the concierge, and Alec. Brigitte was wonderful at arranging private tour guides and securing dinner reservations. The hotel is ideally located right across from the park and within easy walking distance of the riverfront. The restaurant on the property, Saint Bibiana, was one of the best we experienced in Savannah, and our waiter, Trystan, was fantastic. The pool was a wonderful bonus, and the spa was amazing as well. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again whenever we return to Savannah.

Great Hotel, But Misses the Mark on True ‘Luxury’

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Bardo. Its location along Forsyth Park is exceptional, and the overall design of the hotel — blending historic elements with vibrant, modern styles — enhances the experience for guests. I was also generally impressed by the F&B offerings. Saint Bibiana’s breakfast and dinner were both fantastic, and I found the programming at Bar Bibi to be exciting — even met and befriended a few Club Bardo members. However, I think the team at Left Lane really needs to work on refining their offering. While many areas of the building appear high-end, I frequently encountered aspects that felt shockingly cheap for a hotel I paid $800+ per night for. For example, case goods in the guest rooms were very nice, but the mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable. The flooring also felt surprisingly cheap/plastic-like. The seating at Bar Bibi similarly looked great, but was disappointingly uncomfortable. I also encountered quite a few service gaffs during my 3-night stay. The TV in my room kept losing network connection, and it took several calls over the course of a day to get someone from maintenance to come fix it. Another morning, Saint Bibiana had been rented out for a private event, so they suspended breakfast service without planning an alternative — which directly contradicted the guaranteed daily breakfast under my Amex FHR booking. In summary, I had a good stay and would consider one of, if not the best hotel in Savannah currently — definitely better than Perry Lane, but TBD how the Ritz and Recess turn out. But if Bardo wants to maintain its semi-iconic status in the city and grow its brand nationally, these small service and product issues need to be fixed.

Disappointing Return Visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We recently returned to Hotel Bardo for our second annual girls’ trip, and unfortunately, this stay felt noticeably different from our first experience. Since our last visit, the hotel has introduced “Club Bardo,” which appears to function as a local membership-style club. While I understand the appeal from a business standpoint, the impact on the guest experience—particularly for out-of-town visitors paying premium nightly rates—was significant. The pool environment, which was previously a highlight, now felt overcrowded and chaotic. It resembled more of a summer camp atmosphere, with children running freely and multiple birthday parties taking over shared spaces. Securing a pool chair felt overly competitive, and basic amenities were inconsistent—there were periods when towels were unavailable and food service was delayed or unavailable due to private events. Additionally, housekeeping did not service our room without a request, which felt out of step with the level of service expected at this price point. Collectively, these issues point to a larger concern around capacity management. It seems the property may be accommodating more guests and local members than it can effectively support, resulting in a diluted experience for paying hotel guests. That said, I do want to recognize a few standout team members. Maxwell at the pool was consistently friendly and did his best to manage a challenging environment. We also had a positive interaction with a manager at Bar Bibi on Saturday (3/21), wearing a green and white striped dress—she was attentive and professional. In prior visits, we’ve noticed some staffing strain, particularly around the pool, but this stay made those gaps much more apparent. Hotel Bardo has a beautiful property and strong potential, but there needs to be a better balance between serving club members and preserving the experience for hotel guests. At its current price point, the level of service and access simply did not align with expectations.

Absolutely charming, welcoming, with a back in time feel for elegance. The entire staff from registration to housekeeping really want to make sure I have everything for a great stay.

True hospitality at Hotel Bardo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

During our stay at Hotel Bardo, the staff is what truly stood out. Ella, Ana, and the entire team at Bar Bibi took such incredible care of us- it genuinely felt like we were transported to Italy. Brigitte and Alec also went above and beyond to make our room extra special, which made our stay even more memorable. We spent time at both St. Bibiana and Club Bardo, where Meredith made us a fantastic martini. The Club team made our visit even more memorable as we celebrated my birthday. Larissa, Kailyn, Marin, Lily, Yoni, and Jack all went above and beyond to make the experience so special. I can’t recommend Hotel Bardo enough! We can’t wait to come back

The Mansion delighted our senses and whetted our appetite to return again soon. The art, ambiance and atmosphere are simply stunning and thoroughly sensational. My wife and I are seasoned travelers with a preference for the very best – Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, St. Regis, etc. We now anticipate a long and memorable relationship with the Mansion on Forsyth Park.
