Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia, is one of America's most interesting cities. Its series of squares, coupled with its superstitious nature, makes it a fascinating find. In the heart of the city's Historic District is the magnificently restored 1888 Mansion on Forsyth Park, a AAA Four-Diamond property. Mansion on Forsyth Park gives southern comfort new meaning with its collection of lavish guest rooms, an extensive art collection featuring more than 400 original pieces, and opulent public rooms including a lobby cloaked in onyx marble. Classic décor along with modern conveniences create a historic and indulgently luxurious hideaway.

Mansion on Forsyth Park's restaurant, 700 Drayton, is a stunning dining destination with a menu of savory specialties and an extensive wine list. There is also Casimir's Lounge, located on the second level of the restaurant and featuring live jazz and blues on the weekends, as well as the Bosendorfer Lounge. You can also visit the Poseidon Spa, hone your culinary skills by enrolling in one of the Mansion's cooking classes, or relax poolside. There is never a shortage of things to see in "America's Most Haunted City" - do a little ghost busting on a haunted history tour, or take a trek on foot to admire the splendid architecture, with many door frames, porches and window sills coated in "Haint Blue" to ward off evil spirits. More conventional activities might include shopping along the riverfront, slipping into a jazz club, or dining at The Pirates House, named for long-ago patrons who frequented the eatery in the late 1700s, which was the inspiration for Robert Lewis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island.

Having 2 nights at this unusual hotel in the beautiful city of Savannah. The hotel offers valet parking at 28 dollars a night. The alternative seems to be street parking and we were unsure about the rules to risk this. The whole place has a slightly gothic feel from the drapes in the lift to the heavy Dali like paintings. Our room was spacious, good air con and a bathroom with a big round tub that opens onto the bedroom. The Ighting and decor all fitting with the candlelit, mysterious theme. The light switches take some working out however! Breakfast was good and a la carte. The pool is small and due to a wedding and a short period of no access we didn't use it. Staff are all very helpful and on hand when ever we needed them. The hotel has its own shuttle but was an easy walk to get to shops restaurants and riverside. There is also a free trolley bus. Free tea and coffee in the room but no water. Ice machines handy and cooled water available downstairs.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful statement to the architecture. The staff is simply amazing, courteous and welcoming. The room decoration was beautiful. The only things that caught us off guard were the view of the air conditioning units on the roof as well as the MOLD we found in the restroom along the base of the shower ~ very disappointing for a 5 Star Hotel.

WoW WoW and WoW I had never been to Savannah and its everything I had in my mind and I don’t think I could have picked a better hotel. The hotel is eclectic with great staff, thanks for the fizz in the room for my 25th anniversary. Me and my wife would love to visit Savannah again and we will definitely stay at Mansion again. Thank You Very Much !!!! The beauty and history of Savannah is definitely worth a visit.

We stayed here 2 nights as a kickoff to our honeymoon, such a pretty hotel! Lots of artwork throughout the halls, loved the flowers by and in the elevator. The rooftop bar next door was great! Across the street from Forsyth Park, a short walk to beautiful historic downtown Savannah and a 5 min Uber ride to River Street! Room was clean, bed was comfy and the oversized soaking tub was awesome!! We ordered room service and the food was incredible! From check-in to check-out all the staff were very friendly and accommodating! Kyler was great helping us with our car & bags, very nice guy! Would definitely stay here again! :)

I think if you are paying over $350 a night, you certainly should be able to request the number of beds you would like in a room. I was told when I called a week ahead to confirm two beds in my room that it was booked... when we arrived, I was told you NEVER guarantee the number of beds in a room. Seriously? What kind of hotel are you running? The mold in the shower gave me bronchitis. The clerks were obliviously trained to grin and just keep grinning as they say I'm sorry about that... I am sorry...
