Reviews for Hotel Valley Ho

Beautiful Hotel in a Great Location!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

The hotel is clean and beautiful and is in a great location. All of the staff were very friendly! The food at Cafe ZuZu was delicious. We were here for a hosted work conference and loved the Sands conference center. All of the attendees were impressed with the hotel and location. It was an overall great experience; we highly recommend The Valley Ho for business or pleasure. The only suggestion would be to bring an eye mask for sleeping as the bathroom has frosted glass and lights shine in the bedroom whenever the lights are turned on. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Retro Vibes / Worth Considering

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

A very cool hotel with a retro vibe. Most amenities have been updated, although you'll be keenly aware that this is an old hotel with lipstick to make the experience memorable. Beds and rooms comfortable, although you have everything you need. The vibe makes it and is done very well. Location, food, pool scene, lobby bar, etc are all the reason you would stay here.

Zero complaints and a wonderful experience. Staff was incredible at every turn, from valet to front desk to room service. Furnishings were lovely and well maintained. Shower was awesome and toiletries were wonderful.

Many better options in the area

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

If you are looking for a mid-luxury stay in Scottsdale, this is not your place. The rooms were renovated at some point in the past, but they are now clearly past their prime and in need of some serious maintenance. Our carpet was worn, most wood surfaces were chipped and stained, walls near the shower were falling apart, and the bed was squishy soft and extremely uncomfortable. The balconies for the “Mountain View” rooms in the tower are tiny and face a loud, busy street. We were on the top floor in one of their best rooms, and the view of the mountain was a bit of a joke. You will hear road noises all night long even with your door closed and the night drapes pulled shut. If you think you're going to sit outside on the deck, be prepared to bake in the sun while listening to the soundtrack of traffic, garbage pickup, and hotel deliveries. That said, staff is very nice and helpful, the lobby is well decorated and the pool is very pleasant. Dinner at the restaurant or a day at the pool would be nice if you could spend the night somewhere else. During our last visit we stayed at the nearby Canopy Hilton which was much better.
