Just go for the pool

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My wife and I come to Scottsdale every summer for the pool scene, visit family, and to shop. It's been our thing for years. We rent a cabana at the hotel's pool each year, and that has always been amazing. This year we stayed in the hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it. The wifi didn't work. And the TV requires you to have your phone on the wifi to set up your apps. Great idea if it worked. They make you pay $28/each for the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Ouch. And the couples massage we got was definitely sub-par.

Great Vibes, A Few Things to Know

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My daughter and I stayed here as the finale of a spontaneous mother-daughter Arizona trip and it delivered exactly the energy we needed. The front desk staff were exceptional — greeted us warmly every single time we passed through the lobby. That genuine hospitality made a huge difference in our overall experience. Our main tower room had a pool-view balcony facing east — we caught a stunning sunrise the next morning! Beds are low but comfortable. The shower runs extremely hot, so first-timers beware (we personally loved it). The pool scene is everything — lively and fun, full of bachelorette and birthday parties with just a handful of kids. Even at 100°F+ the pool was refreshing and lounge chairs were easy to snag. We lucked into a free Shop & Sip event with generous wine samples, and ZuZu's Saturday brunch had a delicious variety of options. We were also offered a 1pm late checkout — and were welcome to continue using the property and pool even after checking out. That was an awesome touch that really maximized our last day. The frustration: the pool bar closes at 6pm, which feels way too early for a resort of this caliber. After that you're directed inside, but you can't enter wet or in a swimsuit — on a busy Friday night that's a real inconvenience. We would've spent significantly more money poolside if the bar stayed open later. The pool drinks we did have were below average in both flavor and alcohol content. A few small notes: towels took about 30 minutes to arrive, weekend pool drinking requires ID for a wristband, and valet is $30. Overall a stylish, fun Scottsdale stay with a staff that genuinely cares. Fix the pool bar hours and the drink quality and this is easily a five-star experience. — Ericka A., Houston TX

Happy Stay at Valley Ho

We had a wonderful time at Valley Ho. The grounds are beautiful, well taken care of and lush and green. It’s a great escape from the Arizona desert. Valley Ho is really dog-friendly. The grounds, room types and small gestures made it a great experience for our pet. The food and drink at Zuzu was delicious. The bartender and waiters at breakfast were lovely. Happy to have that quality restaurant along with our stay. The rooms were quiet, spacious and comfortable. The valet team is incredible. Shout out to Bryan and Danny! I appreciated them asking my 8 year old son about his day, and of course great service with our vehicle. I loved the fun happening by the pool, but also the option of a quieter pool close by. Appreciated the stair master and other equipment at the gym. We can’t wait to visit again!

I just love this place. It’s so relaxing and fun! My friends and I come here every summer. I love that every room has a balcony or patio - being outside is so splendid and recharging.
