Reviews for Hotel Valley Ho

Iconic Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

My husband and I had an a nice stay at the Hotel Valley Ho for the weekend. We relaxed by the pool, enjoyed the restaurant and the convenience of being in Old Town Scottsdale for shopping, food and entertainment. They do have two pools one for relaxed environment and the other for a party vibe. I would definitely recommend for couples or friends get away. Not necessarily for a young family.

Oasis in the heart of old town Scottsdale

Oasis in the heart of old town Scottsdale. 2 pools including a lap pool. Professional and friendly staff. Located outside the noisy entertainment district but within walking distance to some of the best restaurants and shopping.

Its a good place to go

zuzu needs to be open later or should accommodate the guests that have a room. I didn't even get to use the $25 that was included because they closed so early kind of a waste.

Nice hotel diminished by Nickel-and-Dime fees and lack of facilities at crowded pool

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Clean, comfortable rooms, a well-kept property, and a great location. UNFORTUNATELY, the experience felt overly focused on squeezing out extra fees rather than guest hospitality. The pool was extremely overcrowded due to day-passes being sold, with more than 100 people in the pool, plus many more in loungers, and only ONE BATHROOM STALL available. You can't set your drink down in that crowd, and you can't carry it out to your room, because you will not be allowed back in even if it's just a water. I also felt the pool bar was understaffed, and it shocked me that after going up to bar, standing in line, and ordering one beer, the ticket came with an automatic 20% gratuity added. At check-in, I asked about a specific room location and was simply told I hadn't booked that category, as they continued paperwork with no pause to discuss any room change options. At checkout, I was charged a bellman fee, despite not using the service, plus a housekeeping fee that hadn't been clearly disclosed beforehand. I don't mind paying reasonable fees, but transparency matters, for I had already tipped housekeeping directly. Overall, the hotel has potential, but the constant add-on charges, and day pass crowding without the facilities to keep it sanitary detracted from what could have been a much better stay.

Perfect little resort

The hotel was in a great location. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. The second smaller pool was perfect for my kids!
