We stayed for two days. The room and ambiance were great. But on Saturdays, they open the pool doors to the public, and the pool becomes a zoo, complete with annoying repetitive chanting being played by the DJ. We had to leave and come back later in the evening. I doubt if I will ever do this again, especially since they raised the prices.

My husband and I stayed here on business M-Th. The hotel was super fun!! When I checked in, I requested a first floor because I had sprained my ankle. The only first floor they had was a junior suite and they let me have it at no additional charge! We enjoyed our room with the large bath tub, patio and especially enjoyed the Red Flower toiletries. The pool was GREAT! I have stayed at many resorts and yes, this pool is basic, but it's lively and fun! The hotel is in a great location and I appreciated the ability to walk or take a quick uber. Small Cons that are not worth losing a star: Water bottles in the room are $4, parking is $18/day if you valet or even if you don't, pool drinks were pricey.

LOVED our bright, cheerful, comfortable 2nd floor room especially the large balcony with sliding glass doors. We wish we had thought to leave them open overnight but did open them in the morning to admit soft cool desert breezes and birdsong. The cool bathroom was also way above average. Appreciated the downtown location within walking distance to galleries (open late on Thursdays) and restaurants. Our room faced the front entrance of the hotel, very quiet. Only two things we didn't love: the unexpected parking fee ($18) and the pool scene which was more of a 30-something, cocktails in hand, loud, party scene than we anticipated. Since it's been a long time since I was that age or interested in that scene, I was disappointed it wasn't a more relaxing place to be. The thing about Scottsdale hotels is that you basically have three choices: generic chains which can be a good value at about $150/night, $300 hotels like this one and resorts which start at $500-600/night. The sweet spot for ambience, location and services is in the middle and for that category we recommend Hotel Valley Ho.

I don't have one bad thing to say about Hotel Valley Ho! My husband and I stayed at the property last weekend and were impressed at the resort level of service we received. Check in was a breeze and, although we were there before check in time, they quickly ushered us to our beautiful pool view room. The room was clean, spacious, cool and comfortable. I slept better than I have in a year the first night. It was so quiet! The food-yum! Many gluten free options on their breakfast and pool menus so I had choices! The pool. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff at the pool was incredible. They even sent a bottle of champagne to our room for our anniversary. Those extra touches speak volumes! Although the pool can get more "adult" as the day goes on, it still is a great place to hang out and enjoy the Arizona sun. We can't wait for our next visit to Hotel Valley Ho this fall!
