Amazing hotel. Great location. Great rooms. Great pool. Party scene. Will def b back again. Went for my stagette and all the girls can't wait to go back again. It was a toss up between valley ho and the w and I think we made the right choice.

I would start by saying this had the elements of what could have been an outstanding experience. The retro style decor and the amenities were five star, as was their bar, restaurant, pool and potentially great room. However,it is there that the kind words stop. The weekend was tarnished by the total lack of concern, not even so much as an apology, by the front desk personnel, especially the rude female representative that took the complaint of noise coming from "somewhere" in our room (surrounding room perhaps/like battery needing changed in smoke detector). All 3 nights of our SLEEPLESS stay were accompanied by this "ANNOYING SOUND." We reported this early on a Saturday afternoon, after night one. Not even "I'm sorry." She was totally annoyed at even having to note our concerns. Upon returning about four hours later, we checked at front desk to see if it was resolved before returning to the room, and another agent said "guess so as nothing is indicated regarding your room." We soon found the problem had not been corrected, though the issue with the toilet had been fixed. So, a great place if you enjoy dealing with maintenance issues, lip service and sleepless nights. This concern was likewise reported upon an exit survey and to date, there has again been no response. It would have been a simple fix to have switched us to another room, and upon my initially asking Ms. Unfriendly, she said other rooms were available. Our only regret is we did not insist maintenance personnel come to the room about 3 AM to first hand experience the noise we were hearing. We've stayed at one of their other properties, and this would not have happened there. Thus, while this could have indeed been a Five Star Report/Property, it fell far short. Even the least of stature of hotels would have done the decent thing and moved us to another room.

This hotel is beautiful, but I had more problems in the 12 hours I stayed than I can remember having in any other hotel. Uncomfortable bed and limited free wi-fi on top of a series of maintenance issues. Management offered to resolve and move rooms but I was so tired after a late check in that I pushed through a night of poor sleep.

I actually really loved this hotel, its retro but the rooms are new and spacious. The bathroom is ideal for two people sharing a room as the toilet is in its own enclosure and there is ample sink space and separate shower and tub combo. My only complaint about the bathroom is the shower head in the shower does not have enough pressure to easily wash long hair. The pool is great and has a DJ on weekends. The reason I am giving it a lower rating is because your personal belongings should be safe when you stay in a hotel and my $500 sunglasses were taken from the room which is not so great and really put a damper on my experience. When i called the hotel and explained what happened they really didn't seem to care which was also pretty disappointing given they were not a cheap throw away pair of glasses and i had stayed there for 3 nights with a large group of women (they made good money from us that weekend). I would suggest that if you stay at this hotel you ensure you put all valuables in your safe. I left mine sunglasses on the table and this was clearly a mistake.

A group of friends and I stayed here for our 40th birthday celebrations. We were able to have a King Suite and an adjoining queen bed room together so that we had plenty of space. There were 8 of us, and we fit very comfortably. The King Suite had a fantastic kitchen space, so we went grocery shopping and filled up the full size fridge with snacks, breakfast foods and drinks. The King suite had a nice size balcony with lounge chairs outside. We enjoyed the pool, esp the day when there was the DJ (it actually wasn't too loud or chaotic). The hotel is in a great location to walk to many restaurants, shops and bars. My only issue is that I had been working with someone in the reservations dept since there were 8 of us and this was a special occasion trip. He had told me over the phone that he'd have drinks for us upon arrival (or a coupon for a free drink), and we never received those. The spa staff was incredibly nice on our last day there. My flight was delayed by about 6 hours, so I stayed at the resort instead of hanging out at the airport. The staff at the spa let me come in there to shower and change once I was ready to head to the airport.
