What a gorgeous hotel. The grounds are stunning, with colorful flowers and blooms everywhere we turned. The pools and villas were incredible with the most beautiful backdrop. Rooms were spacious and extremely cozy with immaculate attention to detail. Hotel restaurants and room service was delightful and delicious! We especially loved our morning breakfasts on the balcony. Customer service was top-notch; Whether it was Rich taking care of us at the pool, the friendly room service staff, the concierge or valet attendants…everyone was incredible!

Disappointing Check-in

We are part of a meeting for a company. Most of us are in our 60’s-80’s so have traveled. We checked in and were assigned a room on the outer reaches of the main building where we walked about a block or more just to get to the room only to discover that the room had an adjoining door with a noisy family on the other side. At that point I called the front desk. No one answered for 25 minutes while I listened to a tape recording. For a hotel that calls itself a luxury hotel, this was inexcusable. No one ever did answer so I hiked back to the main level only to find several front desk employees available. Took another 1.5 hours to secure a new room, which is very nice. The moral of this annoying story is to go look at the room first before accepting it and before carting luggage. Very disappointing.

Just another pretty face!

The resort is very pretty, but I found the place disappointing. Although I am at the highest level in the Bonvoy loyalty program, not one person ever recognized me as such. The hotel had been advised prior to my arrival that I would be celebrating my birthday. Again, not one employee of the hotel ever acknowledged this. Our room was a Grand Deluxe Casita, and it was quite comfortable. However, it could benefit from a face-lift. There is a lot of building going on developing condos and houses. Although I have been to this hotel many times in the past, this time was the least memorable. The hotel is very nice but not spectacular. I would still recommend it, but I do not necessarily think it is worth the price.

Phoenix/Scottsdale gem

The staff and food were excellent. I was there for a work trip but it felt like a vacation. Excellent! the grounds were well cared for and rooms spacious and comfortable. The location was close to Fashion Mall and the pool area was 3 levels so offered plenty of seating and there is a golf course onsite.

Too many nicer properties to choose from-sad to see such an iconic property go downhill

We planned a midweek getaway and stayed in a Casasita # 7136. The light switches were dirty near the kitchen and two cigars were stuck in the outside screen on the patio. The shower curtain had orange shampoo stuck on the liner. I realize this was 2 days after the Final Four Basketball tournament took over the city but the cleanliness should be a standard for the room prices they are charging. We had spa treatments the first day and Julie at the front spa desk was incredibly rude and curt. We asked for the bellman to take our luggage to our room and when she called her response was ' Yeah, they don't want to roll their suitcases" her response is certainly not 4 or 5 star service. If she was able to locate our room on the map and explain the location maybe we could have taken the bags ourselves. I asked her where we meet for our massages and her response" Didn't you listen on the tour'? Wow-I didn't know how to respond to her rudeness. Bernardo the masseuse gave an incredible Fire & Ice massage and I wanted to leave an extra tip on top of the automatic gratuity and Julie said" We have already closed out our registers" It was 5:35pm and we were the last guests in the Spa-they should have waited for us to check out before closing up so quickly. We had dinner at Mow& Cowry the 1st night-Hector our server was rushed and indifferent until it came time at the end for the bill and we asked for a picture. Cameron in Turndown service is an AMAZING young man with manners and a service heart. Sherill at the Front Desk is polite and engaging. We had dinner at J&G Steakhouse-our server Becky was wonderful and informative. I made the mistake of ordering Salmon at a Steakhouse-it came out and was WHITE and had NO TASTE. The menu states 'Hand cut Steak Fries" but we were served thin McDonald's looking french fries. We bought a Thank you gift for our hostess on the final day: The T-shirt was $42.00??? Seems a bit excessive for a standard tshirt Overall, it was a nice trip but we will not be staying at the Phoenician again. I see too many significant downgrades since Marriott has taken over management and the property has lost it charm and 5 star level of service. Especially the Spa Front Desk, not a great start of our trip to be spoken to so rudely and condescending.

We stayed at The Phoenician in Scottsdale for three wonderful days that included golf for two. It was truly a phenomenal value.

My husband and I stayed at The Phoenician in Arizona. It was the most beautiful place anyone could stay that wasn't on an ocean. They also have a spa to die for! This resort will have you stress free by the time you leave. There was so much to do on the property that you didn't have to even leave to enjoy yourself.
