Everyone who works at the Saguaro hustles for you. Expect personalized service. They are the first to greet you. So on my second stay with Saguaro, I felt very much at home. As for amenities, the pool is really warm, which made swimming laps lots of fun, especially with hip music in the back ground. So it does feel a little like spring break with lots of guests who acted like they were back in college. So there was one major disappointment. Sadly the Mexican restaurant is gone along with the margarittas. I ate at the hotel three times, and just found the menu offerings very limiting and ordinary. It's an opportunity gap for this hotel because I did not find the restaurants in the neighborhood to be much better.

We stayed here for a conference April 7-11, 2018. While the rooms and some of the common areas needed updates, the premium location was very well received by our members. Also recognized is the wonderful staff members that made our stay wonderful! Every member of their team went out of their way to provide top-notch service. I would also like to rave about the food on site. We had several events held on site during our conference and the food was outstanding! We also utilized the on-site restaurant for breakfast a couple of days and were very happy with the menu as well. The pool area was HOPPING on Saturday with bachelorette parties and bridal parties! We enjoyed drinks and appetizers while "people watching". There is a quieter pool nearby for those who wish to relax. If I had to make some suggestions to management it would be to upgrade the A/C units (they are LOUD), rip up the purple carpet in the halls/common areas of the hotel, and update the worn outdoor furniture. You already have great staff, great food, awesome location and unbeatable weather! I recommend this hotel if you (are like me) don't plan on spending any length of time in your room other than to sleep and freshen up.

Great central Old Town Scottsdale location and very friendly staff. Cannot speak on the Spa, fitness center or restaurant as we were there for a conference and did not get to experience those. Rooms were ok, a little worn and zero balcony space if you have a ‘city view’ room (which really doesn’t exist since this hotel only has three floors and city means parking lot). Surprised there is no elevator to the conference room level and the grounds and hotel were very confusing so it was easy to get lost. I would suggest the management make up some property maps because it’s a hot mess to find your way around. Hallways and elevators in the buildings were old, awful and shabby. I felt like the tiny elevator would break down any minute and if you had more than two people with two suitcases you wouldn’t fit. But, if you’re young and love to party, you’ll probably love this place

I hosted an event at the Saguaro and it went extremely well, thanks to the staff, the food, the meeting facilities and the location. What went well: can't beat the location in Scottsdale, the pools needed a bit of tidying up (don't let them get junky, they add value), the main building is as charming as it appears online. The catering for my event exceeding my expectations (thanks, Chef Cesar and Larry!). Very nice to have a gym on the property, free bikes and pleasant, helpful valets and front desk (thanks, Sam!). Coffee/juice bar onsite was so good that we were sad to see it close at 2pm (thanks, Jason!). I do a lot of events, and Saguaro Event Management was excellent - thanks, Ari! thanks, Karen! They went above and beyond and that is of enormous value when you're hosting a big event. Improvements needed: the guest rooms are shabby, so it detracts from the overall experience. (And those bathroom doors, eeek!) BUT, I do not go to Scottsdale to hang out in my room, and I would not let the B- rooms keep me away. A little effort there would make a huge improvement, though. [Also, just in case the hotel is paying attention - most of your bathroom sinks in shared areas don't actually function. Test them and you'll see what I mean] Other helpful people included: Patrick from secruity who acted as valet after our very late arrival :-), Brent, Josh, and everyone who was professional and pleasant. Thank you. Overall, the staff and common areas more than made up for the negatives, and I will be back. Thanks, Saguaro Team!

Headed to Arizona with my two teenage sons for spring break, I was looking to stay in something other than a giant, gated resort to get a real sense of the area. A member of the Guestbook hotel network, I decided to take a chance on the Saguaro Scottsdale. It did not disappoint in any way. Essentially, a motel that has had a FULL makeover, the Saguaro offers comfortable rooms with modern furnishings, great pool and deck, delicious room service, awesome staff with killer restaurant suggestions, and all within a stone's throw of Old Town Scottsdale and its more modern sections. It was the perfect jumping off spot for all of our adventures. Upon arrival, the staff took one look at how big my boys are and gave us a free upgrade so they would have more room to stretch out and relax. The pool, hot tub, corn hole, ping pong table and SOLID fitness center where just what they wanted when we were around. And the clutch location made trips to the airport, hot air balloon rides, local hikes, etc. super easy and convenient. If you are looking for the lap of luxury, this is not the hotel for you. But if you are looking for stylish, serviceable and friendly, then you have found your home away from home in the Phoenix area.
