I am writing this review while laying on the dirty couch at the Saguaro on a Wednesday afternoon... for HOURS. They have rooms available, and I reserved/paid up front for my room last month, but they won’t allow me to check in because *other persons are the priority today*. Esther at the front desk first told me they were at full capacity last night. I told her that wasn’t true because I was able to go online and book one last night, as I was comparing prices. So she admitted that was a lie, and instead said that although they had plenty of empty rooms last night, today between 8am and 10am they booked up to 100% capacity AND they allowed every last one of these persons to check in before 10am today!! A miracle, to be sure!!! I have a big meeting first thing tomorrow and can’t unpack or press my clothes, so my personal items are now hanging on various fixtures throughout the lobby while the hotel ignores guests and instead focuses on trying to register people in the same lobby for a conference. What a mess. Should have listened to the reviews and saved my $400+. Will never count on a Saguaro again. If you want this kind of motel experience, it’s available elsewhere for 20% of the cost.

The place looked good on line but once we arrived and entered our room things suddenly didn't have the same look. Aside from the odor that greeted us, there was mold in the shower stall, the cushions on the deck chairs were so full of mildew that sitting on them was not an option, and the pool area needed a redo. Signs throughout the property informed us that no outside food or drinks were to be brought into the pool area, however the pool "bar" was shut down. We were told by some of the locals that the hotel had changed hands many times through the years. I guess the newest management thought they could throw some bright colored paint on the walls and doors and no one would notice the things they neglected to update or clean.

Unfortunately, I did not do this before leaving the property. Added to the bill was a $7.00 "porterage fee" which I do not remember receiving such services, and a $3 per day "Housekeeper Gratuity." I was not informed of either fee when I checked in. I always leave a couple of dollars on the unmade bed each day, so I feel I was double tipping. Saguaro should inform guests of this mandatory "gratuity" fee when they check in.

We chose this hotel for location, but the service and ambiance will bring us back ! We arrived early, so decided to hang by the pool for a while. Jamie took car of our luggage and even delivered it to our room when it was ready ! He took fabulous care of us all weekend. Cheryl, at the pool bar, has an awesome friendly professional personality and kept our beer bucket full and a smile on our faces. The pool is a great escape right in the middle of town.... great music, plenty of seating, shade and sun.... food and drink service. We stayed in a city suite... separate living room and bedroom. super clean, soft carpet, great artwork... big bathroom with soaking tub and glass steamy hot shower. The daily room detailing was top notch. We did not make it to dinner in the restaurant but looks great with huge outdoor fire pit . Coffee in lobby was fresh and hot ! We used loaner bikes and explored Old Town. This great hotel provided rest, relaxation, convenience, and superior staff! Will def stay here on our next visit !

Conference facilities are for smaller groups. Rooms were comfortable, quirky colors, Ikea style. Ample plush towels, although toiletries were average for the price. Night time was peaceful, considering the party life in the old town. Nice shadow lights along the main path. Ask for a room near the elevators and not facing the pool (which can get noisy).
